Dangan Ronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc follows high school student Makoto Naegi, as he attends Hope's Peak Academy, a prestegious school that only accepts students by recruitment. Each student has a "Ultimate" (Super High School Level as current fans know it as) titles that state the reason for their recruitment. For example, the Ultimate Swimming Pro would be recruited for her exceptional swimming skills. However, the 15 students find themselves locked in the school by a stuffed bear named Monokuma and given one command: commit murder on another student. The trailer does a good job at explaining the rest.

The gameplay is simple: school life, investigation, trial!

School life is basically you being around your classmates and getting to know them by talking to them. This is generally the peaceful time as no murders are being committed. The investigation period is when a murder has been committed, and you have to search the school for clues. The gameplay here is very similar to the Ace Attorney series, so fans of that will enjoy this segments as well as the trial period.

Trial is taking all of your findings and pinpointing the culprit. If you manage to find the correct culprit, the culprit alone is dragged off and executed in a flashy fashion. However, if you make the wrong deduction, everyone EXCEPT the culprit is executed, and the culprit is allowed to leave the school. As for gameplay, it's better to watch it than to explain it, so the demo is a good place to see it. The demo has been altered from the actual game in terms of who died so theres technically no spoilers from checking these links out

This game also has an anime adaptation, which follows very closely to the storyline of the game.

As some of you may know, there is a sequal to Danganronpa called Super Dangan Ronpa 2: Farewell Despair academy. This game follows the adventure of Hajime Hinata, a student who is about to start his life at Hope's Peak Academy. He meets his fellow classmates in a classroom, and then all of a sudden they are transported to a tropical island. At first they are told to befriends one another by their "teacher", a stuffed rabbit named Usami; however, this changes when Monokuma takes over and gives the same order as the first game: kill.

The gameplay, explanation of titles, etc are the same as the first game, however, it's 16 new students and instead of the setting at Hope's Peak, it's at the tropical island.

Since there is no english release or trailer, you will have to find translations online. They are scattered as some have done specific chapters so go hand in hand with other translations. If you want more information, please refer to these links.

I don't think it's possible to play in a different language. The anime doesn't clearly point out what you're supposed to do during the trails.

I've seen playthroughs of it on english so they had to get it somewhere? and on the PS Vita I heard it was coming out in english
