Topic: Should inactive accounts have their username (display name) up for grabs, both for new players and in anticipation for the upcoming name-change update? Active (must meet at least one criteria) -Logged in within 6 months of last login date -High stats (over 50 cheese?) -High total play time (over 5 hours?) -Fraise purchased (real life money invested perms the account) -Email validated *All of these must be false for an account to be considered inactive; thus if even one of these is true, an account will be safe* What happens to these accounts These accounts would still exist (not deleted), just their name would be taken. Think of it like a reverse name change; instead of a name of your choice, you get some random jumble of numbers or something for your name. Or maybe your old name would have some special character added before it (kinda like how extinction accounts have a "+"; maybe a "-"), and upon logging in these players would be prompted for a new name (a free name change for the hassle; not that many of these accounts would ever log in again in theory). How they would log in depends on how the update is done; many games have your original username stay the same, with just the "display name" everyone sees changing. If Atelier 801 chooses this method, then removing names would be easy. There's a few ways this could go, all while preserving the original account. The Logic The criteria for inactivity are meant to ascertain what users have truly invest themselves into the game, and are most likely to log in again at a later date. And by only taking the game and not deactivating / deleting accounts, this prevents players from losing their account, but instead just their name. While this still might suck, it isn't hard to meat at least one the the above criteria, which would make your account safe from this. This also wouldn't remove your name by default once all of the criteria is met, but only make the name available to be taken; until then the name would remain safe. Do you like this method of making names available? Have any suggestions? Post below! Note: This is not about discussing the actual name change update itself (see this thread), but instead just for inactive names being taken for use by active / new players. Sentinels: I believe this is different enough from the thread about deleting all inactive accounts to be ok, but feel free to close it if it's not. Dernière modification le 1461772440000

It has been said that the old, unused account names (those that you have described under the "Inactive" criteria) should be available for the public, when / after the Name change update comes into the game. I personally give my full support towards old, inactive, accounts being either deleted or having their names released for the grabs. There are so many awesome names, that have been taken and literally never used. I'm sure people would be very pleased with those names being available once again Dernière modification le 1461682980000

"-Not logged in for over 6 months" If you're gonna propose something like this, it should be a course of over 6 years. Also, with that proposed for a 6 month waiting period, I would have been deleted by now, THREE times. I took long 6-8 month breaks from Atelier in 2013, 2014, AND 2015.

" Not bought fraises" EHEM, There are some people who don't use money for games sometimes they get boring and they regret using money on a game like Animal Jam. ( No offense )

ringcool a dit : I don't think people understand, that if an inactive account name would be allowed for the grabs, it must follow all of the criteria. Never buying fraises or not validating your email address will not get your name taken away from you if you've collected let's say over 100 cheese and played a few hours. Well by the idea of this thread of course. Admins might set different criteria, but still applies. Dernière modification le 1462015500000 |

I think the time for being inactive should be longer. I mean, people do have schools.
