This post of mine got a warning because I told someone that they should be posting in another thread.

Why are you not allowed to tell people that they shouldn't double post, or that they're posting in the wrong forum category or thread, or other rule violations?

I get that you shouldn't just go around telling people that they're breaking the rules without adding anything to the thread, but I was answering OP's question and telling them that they should be posting in the Questions & Answers thread.
Is this a rule so that moderators can feel more powerful and not let the users help at all?

It's like if I were to stop a robbery in real life and then I went to jail because that's the police's job.

You can contact Draco about your warning and talk about it a bit.

Is Dracoleaf a moderator or administrator of this website?
Is his name in green because he's a moderator/administrator?

Draco is a sentinel.

A sentinel is a 'mod' who has only power in the forums.
Power: banning people, muting, giving warnings.

Although, there are such things as Mod-Sents though..
(mod-sents have either s green or yellow name.. so eh)

He is a sentinel, which is a forum moderator. Give the Sentinel FAQ a read perhaps.

Dracoleaf is a sentinel, sentinels are the people who moderate the forums.
(And yes, his name is green because he's a sentinel)

You're allowed and more than welcome to help others, reply to their questions, give them links to useful threads and any other kind of things that may help them. However, you're not allowed to tell them they're breaking a rule or tell them what to do, because it isn't something users should have to worry about. Sentinels are here for that, if you see someone breaking a rule, just report them and we'll handle it.

If you'd like to continue this discussion, you can do it in the staff FAQ thread.
