So the summer Olympics is coming this August, I was wondering if we can have an Olympic event in game to celebrate the spirit of the upcoming 2016 Summer Olympics. I know the time of the actual Olympics are taking place during the time where the Farming Event is happening, so I was thinking maybe we can have the Olympics event take place for approximately two weeks, starting on the day of the actual event (August 5th) to the Friday two weeks later (August 19th) since the Olympic last from August 5th to August 21st. As a solution, maybe Transformice staff can postpone the Gardening Event to after the Olympics or extend the time of it to mid-September, etc. I'm not sure if it will be possible to have two events running at the same time so I will not suggest that both events be in the game together. As many of you may know, the Summer Olympics is full of many different types of competitive sports. Of course we won't have as many in the game because it would probably cause lag and lots of time to organize them. So the sports that I have in mind are: archery, beach volleyball, rowing, and diving I'm not sure how hard it will be to implement these in the game, but I can visualize a bit of how these four games will work. What I have in mind right now is that you can choose the sport you want to complete in upon login, and that will be the sport you will be chosen for until the next time you log in. Maybe there could be a setting button to change your game if you desire. There will be an automatic pop-up screen that shows the list of games and options for you, you can choose up to 2 sports (maybe more) and place a checkmark on the one(s) you prefer. This data will be transferred to the different game maps. Each game map will last approximately 2-3 minutes long. Different Situations When the game map isn't what you chose: You will not be present on the map but will be in the room. You can keep score along with other mice who did not choose the particular game as well, or you can simply watch. When the game map is what you chose: You will be present in the map along with other mice who chose the same game as you. There can be a maximum number of mice on the map because there won't be enough spots and will cause lag (I am open to suggestions on how many players should be allowed each map.) The players will be chosen at random or by their spot on the game list upon login. If you are not chosen, you will be most likely to be on the next time your map comes up. Keeping Score There will be prizes given to players with the top three most points after the map ends. First place: 5 Event tickets to trade for a special Olympic badge/cartouche/title and 5 cheese coins. Second place: 3 Event tickets, some consumables, 3 cheese coins. Third place: 1 Event ticket, some consumables, 1 cheese coin. Note: I know some of these sports may not be interesting to some of you at first glance, to be honest, rowing doesn't sound very appealing to me, but maybe after the description of the games it will sound a bit better. In the next tab, there will be somewhat fully explained details on each of the sports mentioned above. Archery There will be a row of archery targets along the top of the map, each player on the map will be assigned a specific spot under the target (which basically means in front since the game is 2D) There will be a specific spot on the target that you have to shoot to, the game will allow you to see where it is for about 2-3 seconds before it blacks out. The players have to rely on their memories of where the spot is and click it with their computer mouse to be able to shoot. The mouse with the closest arrow to the target will win 10 points. This cycle continues until the map is over. Beach Volleyball The mice will be split evenly into two teams, there will be no odd number of players because the maximum number of mice on a map will be even to prevent any unfairness. There will be a volleyball given in the middle of the net, and there will be a countdown of 3 to begin the game. The players on the map cannot move, they will be in a designated position with a range (like the summoning range) in where you can hit the ball. When the ball is hit and goes to your range, it will turn into a brighter color so you know that you are allowed to hit it. In order to hit the ball and send it to the other side, you must use the computer mouse to click somewhere on the other side of the net. Do not click the ball because it won't do anything and it will just land, scoring your team a zero. One round of game will continue until someone from one team fails to hit the ball. One point will be given to the team that won the round, and another countdown of 3 will begin. The cycle continues until the map is over. Edit: Sofianosm asked: Will the mice get to hit their teammates? Answer is no. Players are prohibited to hit on any spot on their side of the net. Rowing Again, players will be split evenly into two teams. There will be two shells (boats), one for each team. The mice will be seated one behind another on the boat, there will likely be a leader in the front of the boat to do the main guiding, but other mice will be able to contribute as well in order for the team to win. One boat will be placed on the top of the map, and one will be at the bottom with something to divide the two sections (again the 2D game physic). With the countdown of 3, each rower will have to press the left and right arrow as fast as possible to get to the finish line. Of course there will be obstacles such as waves to slow down the journey, but with teamwork, you can achieve it! I know this sounds like the fishing/carnival event, but I believe this will be more competitive and fun. Edit: ruthenselle a dit : Diving When the map begins, there will be three diving platforms at each side of the map and a window in which you can choose the position you want to dive in. The options could include reverse dive, forward dive, handstand, and so on. Maybe not over 4 positions. You will be asked to choose a position in which will probably affect your score. You will be given no more than five seconds to choose your position because the game would have to start (if a position is not chosen within 5 seconds, you will be set as default which is just to jump into the water). Each player is allowed to gather their speed for five seconds by pressing the down arrow button for as much as possible during this time period. When the time is up, your mouse will be automatically thrown into the water at whichever position and the mouse that had the most power/biggest impact wins 10 points (I know in the real Olympics the one with the least impact is one who wins, but we can reverse that). Two to three titles. One badge. One cartouche. I am open to suggestions as I haven't thought of anything yet. :) Stay tuned for further notice! Missiclinda Suggested: Olympic Medal. These are two furs that I designed. :) They were inspired by the mascots of the Rio Olympics, Vicinius (first one) and Tom (second one). This was my first time doing digital art. ^^ Hope you like it! I am also open to suggestions here as well! :) Stay tuned for further notice! I know the Winter Olympics are not coming until 2018, maybe I could suggest briefly on some sports we can do if this event does not work out in the summer. Bobsleigh can substitute rowing. Ice hockey can substitute beach volleyball. Ski jumping can substitute diving. Curling can substitute archery. Note: This is just a thought, it will be explained further in detail in the near future. Please stay tuned for further information! Dernière modification le 1468519500000 |

Nice idea; and about your designed furs, I like the 2nd one. The 1st one seems way too colorful. There should be 3 titles because this seems to be a big event; Have you named the titles? From what I see, the sports are a bit incomplete. I mean, the 1st sport will be a bit hard, trust me. 2nd sport, if all the mice split in a team, will they be able to hit their teammates? 3rd sport, I kinda like this one, but I doubt mice will move their ass. 4th sport, this is most likely the best one, so I'll give a /halfsupport Dernière modification le 1468467000000 |

Hm. I'm thinking, maybe the rowboat sport could be your team trying to find the same pace of pressing the left and right arrows for every mouse. Holding each arrow longer makes the boats move further, but slower. Holding each arrow a bit more rapidly makes the boats move faster, but it advances less. 'Course, it'll all be down to whether your team decided on a pace and is pressing simultaneously. I'm just suggesting this because it might actually encourage more teamwork. *shrug* /halfsupport for now, I do honestly like the idea! =^-^= Don't stop believin' <3 Same here, the second fur seems pretty neat. It would really break the ice for the red or yellow furs [that adorably fierce ladybird fur], bringing back green and blue colours. Naturally the badge'll have to be about the fur. e::: Whoop, I'll /fullsupport this with the new tweaks! Dernière modification le 1468615800000 |

sofianosm a dit : Thanks! I haven't thought of any titles yet, no ideas have came to me so far. If you have any ideas please comment them. For the 2nd sport, no. The teams can only choose to hit areas on the other side of the net. After all, they want to win, not lose, right? (I will add this into my description in case people get confused. For the 3rd sport, when we had the carnival event, there were a lot of competitiveness going on, so I was thinking if it will be like that also. ruthenselle a dit : I think that will be more interesting than what I have here lol. I will edit this to my sport descriptions as well. Thanks! And for the badge, there will be one/two badges of the fur depending on if both gets implemented. But I think there should be an event badge as well. I'm open to ideas on that and I am also coming up with ideas. :) |
