I like the concepts, and your designs for the furs. But, I think that the design should be a little more simpler, especially for the 2nd one. Think of the simple mouse sprite, and think about it wearing your gear fur. The gears on the feet and other areas are too small to design and have it show up clearly on the sprite; it'll just look like tiny pixels.

There also should be a magician-themed clothing! It could be a dark sparkly cape, a nice black velvet top hat, a want sticking out of it's mouth and for the tail, its a trail of dark sparkles up the tail. I guess it could be something like that but yeah.
