Alternatively, one could have it send an email and you will get notified of the email. Some users might have their email connected to their smart phone (tons of people have em now) and they will get pinged by an automated system telling them that the email that the message was sent to is the one linked to said account. It can only be viewed by the owner of the email and would remove any possible "spam" threats that hacking an account would provide. Maybe I'm not thinking this through but it is still a good idea. /support |

Haruhitastic a dit : This is a suggestion that would help a very handful of people, an extremely small portion compared to everything else you had said such as map editor updates as there would be thousands of people benefiting from this and you will be able to see from the ton of maps we play on. Haruhitastic a dit : The last time I checked, I do not need to agree and support everything I see which is the point of comments. Also me giving my opinions and questioning peoples comments, as you like to call being a "jerk", helps people see other sides to the story which as I said is the point of the comments. Johnlantern a dit : If it is so much of a problems to the Admins, they would have done something similar instead of a player amusing they do as there are not statistics unless you ask the support team yourself. Johnlantern a dit : The reason for that is because they have to log in with their email which does not happen in transformice. Edit: Replacing the word password with email Dernière modification le 1406669580000 |

Sukhi a dit : I wholeheartedly encourage you to stop by the IRC and see how many people are wanting an admin so they can be told their e-mail, or change it because they don't know which e-mail they assigned their account to. Sukhi a dit : If you could give other people's points a chance that'd be fab too. Sukhi a dit : and you would have to do the same in game This isn't rocket science. I don't get why you don't understand this. |

Sukhi a dit : I'm not exactly sure what you're saying here, but the large amount of emails they receive via contact form has been mentioned by admins before and is the reason for the week+ long waits for responses on said emails. Sukhi a dit : Actually logging in with your password on transformice is a thing that happens. Question for you: Do you log into transformice with a password? I'd also like to add in that I personally WILL NEVER HAVE TO USE THIS SUGGESTION. This is not for my benefit. I know my email. I've never asked an admin to give it to me. I have no desire to change my email either. Dernière modification le 1406665500000 |

Haruhitastic a dit : I have been on the IRC many times before and I have not see once someone asking for what email they had put their account on. Haruhitastic a dit : There are usually problems with everyone's point, I'm just giving my view on them. Haruhitastic a dit : Johnlantern a dit : What I meant to say was email. My bad. Johnlantern a dit : There could be hundreds of reasons why it might take over a week for a response and we wouldn't know what that is unless they say that it was due to the people wanting to know their email. If this was the case something would have already been done by them so they wont need help in that subject. Dernière modification le 1406671080000 |

Sukhi a dit : In light of your statement that "If this was the case something would have already been done by them so they won't need help in that subject." This suggestion has been put in place in case they had not thought of it. There are a lot of good suggestions that have been put in place simply because the admins had not considered the idea of them (look at all the accepted suggestions list). That's why there's a suggestion forum. That's why I'm posting this in the suggestion forum. True there are many other factors to why they receive so many emails from contact forms, however, as a CFM helper, a large majority of players for whom I have to direct to a contact form are all "I need my email" situations. I get to encounter these situations daily (I do not join IRC chat but those times that I have I have almost always seen a player asking about an email situation). A major reason I even wrote this suggestion was so that I would be able to help players with questions resolve them easier rather than having to tell them they need to wait 2 weeks for a response. I wrote this suggestion because of what I've seen and would like to help. Just because you're not having problems with your email doesn't mean the majority of players still aren't. I'm going to accept the fact that you're going to disagree with this suggestion just for the sake of disagreeing. Although I will still respond to any of your criticisms of this suggestion so that other readers who read through this will be able to see both sides of this rather than ending with "your suggestion sucks" |

This thread just brought all the uniformed Computer Users. Instead of having the E-mail partially revealed with the command, I would imagine something better like security questions. Although it might be more work to create, it will save the headache of trying to guess what the E-mail is that you lost. You have the best of both worlds, able to see your E-Mail while providing security in cases of compromised accounts. |
