Concerning the summoning of "forbidden" creatures in survivor. |

It has come to my inquiry that summoning "forbidden" creatures such as anvil god is a rule in the survivor realm. I want to know if the moderators themselves has placed such a rule or it's just a norm and can be easily dismissed to the shaman's will. While anvil gods are very dangerous and are definitely abused by shamans, they are time consuming and only target a certain area. Anvil gods should be created with expertise to reach the whole map. Also, concerning this subject, I want to know if this totem works as a god, as I have seen it many times during my ventures in the survivor realm. Let me describe it. A ball with a red rotating anchor, surrounded by 4 cannons that is attached with a yellow anchor, one on each side. If you haven't witnessed this totem, it is very destructible, I have tried to concoct one myself, but mine keeps flying off the grid, while totems like this made by other shamans seems not. If this is the case, shouldn't the creation of this totem also be forbidden(IF there's a rule)? I rest my case for now. I hope this wouldn't be sealed by the moderators, or just leave an answer before sealing this thread to the depths. |

First of all awsome speech teach me how to write like that Second, it is after all survivor, and you're meant to kill the mice. If it does, however, lead to a crash, I'm pretty sure you can report it to a mod. |

Gods are basically builds that breaks the game physic and starts going crazy. what you have just describe is also a god. There are no specific rule for Survivor after Atelier801 made it an official module. In the past when Holx still host it with a bot, there were the rule placed there, and one of which was no god. Thats how the rule was formed and 'passed down'. Now it is allowed to make gods, but gods in Survivor is really just a lazy and unfair method to kill everyone. Also I am betting this will be locked anyways. There is not much discussion value in it Dernière modification le 1410943500000 |

Techtriostep a dit : Hear, I just want a majority response where many forumers have concluded that indeed there was no rule at all concerning spawning anvil gods or a response from an authority like a moderator. Theandra a dit : If you read a lot of fiction books, or books in general, you will just find yourself writing on a higher level. And I find writing like this amusing. ~ I am just mildly irritated that some survivors, even the veteran ones, keep squealing that spawning gods aren't allowed and should ban the shaman making it, I hope this thread would give some light on this issue. Thank you for the information. :) |

If they actually start /ban ing the shaman who spawns an anvil god or something of that sort, that's voteban abuse? |

Theandra a dit : If there is indeed a rule that states "NO GODS ALLOWED", then their reason is justified. If there's no such rule, poor chap that gets kicked out of the room, and this shows a clear sign of injustice, and I guess it prefers to voteban abuse too. Isn't /ban a sort of a "kick" function for the room? I'm sort of foggy when remembering the commands as I rarely use them. |

I'm pretty sure vote banning was removed from the game. Anyway, about the anvil gods, there is no technical rule against them. But, as Theandra stated, if the build will indeed lead to a crash, then it is reportable. |

As far as I'm aware, not summoning "gods" isn't an official survivor rule, it's just something that people dislike happening so it's etiquette not to summon one. Summoning things like anvil gods used to be against the rules ("If you are crashing a room intentionally (ex: with an anvil god) you'll be kicked from the game." from the Guidelines & Rules thread) but I'm not sure how that still stands as there'd been optimisations in the game that means anvil gods don't crash people now. |

shastabby a dit : Vote ban was, vote kick is not. Shamousey a dit : They can and still do crash. |

Sure you can use them along with cannon totems if you want to be the equivalent of a cheater. You completely take the sport out of the game. The anvil totems are the worst of them too, because often there is nothing you can do when the totem breaks all physic points and kills everyone on the map regardless of where you are. What makes survivor fun is the challenge in both surviving and using actual skill to try and take out opponents that have a chance to respond. Let me ask you, how fun do you think the game would be if every time the map loaded you were auto-killed? Is that fun for you? They were going to remove totems for the above reasons in survivor, but apparently backed out. A lot of users still probably think it is planned though adding to their annoyance. |

Thank you everyone for your inputs. Looks like summoning anvil gods are legal after all, though it is true that it is sort of "immoral" or breaks the challenge in the game. Although to be frank, I like myself squirming in fear and keep typing in the chat bar, "brace yourselves!" and "OMG RUUUN!", makes me feel different to the usual feelings of disappointment when I get hit by a cannon. Besides, I rarely see god totems anymore, most prefer to use the bridge ones for blocking or box ones for the sadistic shamans watching caged mice fall to their deaths. Krissim a dit : Are you implying the prespawn cannons here? Yeah, they serve as a disadvantage for the laggy mice unfortunately. Indeed, survivor is fun due to the challenge of ... well surviving. I guess the totems you've mentioned are made to kill the veteran ones, they seem immortal at playing at their game. The totems make everything easier after all. ~ This might be off-topic, but other than god totems, killing walljumping mice using spirit and blocking are also similar to the functions of the totems, but why are they more tolerated? |

I was referring to totem cannons that spawn a deluge of cannons. In certain situations these totems can be avoided, but in others it is just a matter of luck. It is funny you mention it makes things easier, because hardmode shouldn't be easier. Pre-spawn cannons is another move that can kill mass amounts of mice before they have a chance for their mouse to respond. I don't like those either even though I am typically one of the ones that has a fast enough computer where I can survive. Once again, it just takes the sport out of the game. As for sp and blocking, they annoy mice for difference reasons however are less of a problem because they don't inherently mean the mouse in question will die. Skilled mice can survive most sp attacks. Usually most raging around sp that I see is because the player is probably annoyed at themselves for dieing stupidly by one because they weren't paying attention. Blocking is annoying because first you end up sitting there waiting for the sham to slowly build up a barrier, and then it takes some of the fun out of the game for the skilled members. Most skilled players get bored merely dodging the attacks. Some of the challenge is often not only dodging but reaching a higher ledge in the process, ect. It is why you will see skilled members on certain maps take great risks for no reason to cj to a far off area for their own amusement. There are some members that are cannon purists. They want cannons and cannons alone to be used in the game and will get annoyed at anything else. Personally, the only thing that bothers me is when users use methods that are the equivalent of autokills Dernière modification le 1411055400000 |

I honestly was thinking this would be about summoning demons or something? But anyway, i hate when people use gods in survivor because 1. lag 2. possible crashes/freezes (yes i know it has been kind of fixed so it doesnt happen as much but i have still frozen or had crashes) 3. too powerful 4. takes away the fun Whats the point of survivor when you lag, almost crash/freeze, and barely have any chance of surviving, and its no longer fun? Krissim a dit : mhm Christopaz a dit : Also, I hate these too and when people put boxes when you wj (even though i can usually just wj the boxes unless theyre spamming them) Dernière modification le 1411206720000 |
