So yes, recently Dead Maze has been announced. Do you think it will be forgotten like other atelier games or will it stay for a while? |

Kind of early to be debating this isn't it? But honestly I think it depends on how they release it. I've heard talk they may release to Steam (idr where I heard originally so not sure how legit that is). If so, that could help get outside interest, which could help them get new players into the player base. But if they just make the game and don't really do anything with it (other than maybe put on kongregate) and only depend on users to promote, then my hopes aren't too high. I'm not sure how hard it is (and personally have no interest in them), but they may also wish to try and get some letsplayers to play the game, especially since it seems even geared towards older audiences than their previous games. If nothing else, they could send a product key to some letsplayers so they can play the whole unlocked game to pique their interest in trying it. |

What is this game you speak of? |

Advertise the game on transformice itself, not just on the forums or youtube or trello. A very small percentage of people actually know the side games exist because most don't really look at the announcements that often and there aren't that many youtube followers on the atelier801 channel. If it was on transformice (like the cartoons are) then it would be very easy to make the games known. The job after that is just to provide incentive for people to play longer, then the games might actually have a chance of success. If they expect the game to become popular by outside players then they have to actually make the game popular enough to be noticed. It's a very simple game engine from the looks of it so it needs a lot more to retain attention. Should atelier make the same mistakes again deadmaze will definitely be forgotten (not to mention that the game isn't free either so they are already cutting off some players) |

Usually I'd say yes, the game would be forgotten after about a month if it didn't take off but actually.. I can't really say that since they're adding a new variable to the mix. The past 3 games after Transformice (4 if you count Celousco which was dropped, which I personally thought would've been big) have been free-to-play. Now I don't have high hopes for the game -- I really don't, but I think it being a game you actually have to pay for to unlock the rest of it gives me the impression that they've put sometime into it and are going to put more. Unlike Bouboum and Fortresse that were just re-hashes and Nekodancer which was just a rip-off of an already dead horse franchise of rip-offs. I don't think their idea is original -- Let's be honest it's been done before many many times. A zombie survival game? We totally don't have enough of those ! That in my opinion is gonna turn a lot of people off pretty quickly, and from the looks of the game so far? There are much better, more promising games I could spend that 10$ on (Especially on Steam). Another zombie genre game comes to mind when I look at Dead Maze, however I can't quite put my finger on what it was.. Some of the systems they're going to use though reminds me of Madness: Project Nexus with all the Exp and skills after death kinda thing.. Getting stronger as you play and being able to last more waves after a couple play-through. All that said, I'm not really excited about this game's release. I don't have high hopes and I'll more than likely be taking that 10$ and putting it towards Madness: PN2. At least then I know I'll be getting my moneys worth (I just hope it has multiplayer..) This is getting off topic now so I'll stop. |

Personally I'd play it frequently when it is released. Though I'm not sure if others will do the same (but hope for the best!). e: Since it's confirmed to be a pay-to-play game, there will definitely be big updates that will keep it going longer than fortoresse or bouboum.
