Hello, Apocalypse bad-asses! Brace yourselves for there's a lot to discuss about today :) Before all, know that your characters will be reset, and this Alpha 5.0 is meant to be patched almost every day! Player's Camp Big changes here, as the camp is no longer an isolated, instatiated map, but an "open" one, with planned and specific locations for up to 8 players at a time on the same camp! Concretely, the player spawns at a random location with all his buildings if he already crafted ones, and other players on the map will be able to see his house spawning too. When the player leaves the place, the house disappears as it came. Players will be able to gather (friends and group members will be gathered promptly as neighbours) on the center of fthe camp for exemple. One player won't be able to use other buildings than his. However, bikes can be used by all. If there's a goat or a chicken (unlocked by a player), they will freely wander around, and randomly follow a player. When the story ends, a seller appears on the camp (when there is the abandoned picnic table) and will trade interesting items that are hardly found in the world of Dead Maze. Lakeview Lane A huge technical problem had us rethink the whole village : the floors. The objective arrow underneath the player pointed a location that was beyond the boundaries of the map (that is because our floors are isolated houses on the same map). You'll see the village has been completely reworked, let us know what you think, as always! :) Many NPCs have been added to the village in order to bring it to life. Secondary characters, but also the most important ones for the narrative design. You can spot Wallace behind his desk, completely submerged by his work at the village, for example. Game Design - The player unlocks more buildings at the beginning of the game - We added a 4th active skill - Clothes system has been thought: a sewing table can be crafted. The player will be able to upgrade his clothes (to the maximum quality "Exceptional") in order to unlock attractive statistics. Each cloth has its stats, and is categorized in more or less expensive recipes (as for the kitchen). Social clothing can only be worn if this clothe has been upgraded to the fullest. Balancing - The toaster and the pompom have been upgraded - The following combos have been fixed: mannequin arm and leg, machete, hatchet, steel sword, panda plush, Chucky, bear plush, modern painting. - The following combos were meant to give a move speed bonus but were broken: soccer ball, football, wood cane, toy car. - The books and magazines combos have been fixed (didn't work) - The following items have been downgraded: game console, bleach, lighter, screwdriver combo. - The kitchen knife make the zombies bleed faster (it was the only weapon to not have a combo until now) - Chloe's bandage is closer (when doing the first quest in Sacramento) Aesthetics/Animations - We added new buildings to the player's camp - We added more than 50 aesthetic elements for our next maps and the village - The player has a house (a beautiful chalet, warm and comfy) - NPCs have specific skins (Lakeview guards, important characters) - New animations for the characters! - We added the chicken (Yup.) Patchnote 5.2 What's new? - We added two black stripes filled with the name of the mission the player plays to add some depths in the narrative design. - Lakeview's loading screen, Santa Rosa one and Mazon College one are in da place.
