Rampant hacking |

and no moderators. What fucking gives? A huge portion of the player base uses third party programs that give them an unfair advantage to regular players. I have yet to see ANYONE get a ban for hacking, and a lot of well known players admit to using it and haven't received any warnings or bans AT ALL. Either there is absolutely zero moderation for this game and Atelier 801 doesn't give two shits about their own damn game, or hacking is considered okay, and there are no consequences for hacking at all. I may as well just start hacking if nothing is going to be done about this problem just so I can at least compete with people who are teleporting everywhere and stealing my shit. |

It's amazing. I was in a room with 4 hackers in it at once. I know there are no "in game" mods but reporting does nothing at all lmfao, it's always people on the same accounts hacking so you know nothing ever happens. |

They actually have private mods, but IT IS NOT ENOUGH My ping of 350ms+ is not helping me. When people steal my things... now hackers. I keep getting killed, meaning my 1.65 ratio will drop rapidly if I keep on playing, so I decided to stop until this problem is gone. |

I'd love to say they actually care for this game, but considering they can't even fix simple balancing issues with the power-ups I wouldn't expect them to be fixing anything at all. It's pretty safe to say that Bouboum is their lowest priority game and it shows quite bluntly. I know there are more problems in the game then just power-ups (which would be hacking) but considering they can't even fix something that's been around for a while again, I don't see them doing anything about the hackers. I don't like saying this but it's pretty apparent that Bouboum's a dead game. I could give you plenty more reasons to this but most of them involve the power ups. |

Welp, that's what happens when Atelier 801 thinks a suitable game is a copy of a game that already has a ton of copies. |

This is mainly the reason why i'm not playing Bouboum that much as i did old times when this game was still on Transformice, i still enjoyed it when it had it's own website, until they implemented powerups and hackers started to have fun. It's disappointing how almost every room includes an hacker, despite the fact that it's not lag, because they walk x2 faster than normal if not more, plus it's not that hard either to see that they teleport. It's really frustrating that you can't do nothing about it unless you change rooms, but that won't solve the problem at all, if then we add the shielders that target you to death at a start of a round/sweeps/kamikazing and bomb spamming in general especially these hackers that instantly spawn a line of bombs i'd conclude with that it's pretty much a 'luck based' gameplay, plus a challenging and enjoyable part of the gameplay is already gone for certain players (including me) due to powerups that ruin various techniques for experienced players as Shadowwinter said in another thread. The number of hackers is increasing drammatically and if there's nothing to be done with hackers plus no moderation for the game we can sadly say that the majority of the players that still play this game will either quit or (knowing that they won't be banned or either warned) will start hacking too. |

It seems they have no care for it whatsoever. They're saying "Here, do what you want, we don't care anymore." Because its a spinoff. What happens to most spinoffs? They die. |

Well this problem wouldn't be happening if they didn't cut short almost every active moderator from Transformice, which directly effects Bouboum as well. It would be nice if they start opening moderator applications who are actively willing to help, but I doubt that will happen. |

The game isn't dying because it's a spinoff, it's dying because it's developers aren't updating/fixing the game anymore and the only time you'll ever see an update is when new skins are introduced rather then new game-modes and desprate hack patches/bug fixes. Moderation is something the game doesn't have, and while it's a huge issue it won't do much if the game isn't being patched because hackers will just keep returning in new, innovative ways as time goes on. It's only a matter of time before you can't even find a full room of people to play with let alone one without a hacker (or is this already happening?) |

Shadowwinter a dit : can't agree more. not talking just about just Bouboum, most of their games might be in grave danger. giving abit off topic but i really think this must be heard: At first when i first heard that Celousco was the SECOND brother, i was not too worried, Transformice was going well at that time and the moderators then were at least doing their job. But after the upload of bouboum and fotoresse and now the upcoming Neko dance thing, im getting worried that they cannot handle all these games. Transformice now is in a mess and they added 3 more problems for themselves. I mean if just uploading TFM and Celousco is going to give them problems, i would actually sort of forgive them and hope they can sort things out. But i have no understanding why make their life difficult with bouboum and fortoresse. I know they are tig's old games, probably his experiment with games but if at the BEGINNING they said Celousco is the next game yet not only they did not really promise that but also adding 2 (3 actually) before Celousco is getting ridiculous. They are making more games and is getting out of CONTROL. If they cannot handle this mess and still willing to put celousco and neko dance i am so NOT SORRY. Right now i feel they need to stop thinking of updates or new stuff to add in, idc if they will delay events etc., they need to fix tfm bugs 1st, then focus on bouboum hackers than upgrading Fortoresse. Neko dance and Celousco seriously need to be on hold, what a great promise to say that celousco is coming out this january when you have a pie of mess. I am not trying to insult, is a suggestion but please make one of your games CLEAN before you move on. Working for Transformice for 4 years is getting boring i understand but at least end it nicely 1st right? end of rant. |

Hiring mods over Bouboum would seem rather difficult. Not really the applications or voting but finding active, experienced people of the right age to moderate. The game has a really small community so when you take all the people that would apply and then remove the non-qualified applications.. It doesn't seem like you'd have that big of a number to work with. Hiring Transformice mods could work, but it's already hard enough to take care of Transformice and the forums for those modsents. I feel like Bouboum would sort of be a low priority versus Transformice in this situation so we probably still wouldn't see very many mods on at a time for Bouboum because they'd be moderating Transformice. Again, Moderators are nice but if the game still isn't being patched it's only going to go so far before you either ban your entire player-base with a few people actually playing legit or all the legit players quit and the game just becomes a hacker's hangout. |

Indecency a dit : Hacking isnt okay Atelier801 cares And hacking is just a way of saying "I HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO PLAY THIS GAME SO IM GOING TO HACK AND TRY TO ACT ALL PRO AND COOL EVEN THOUGH IM A HUGE HACKER AND ALL MY "PRONESS" IS A HUGE PILE OF BALOGNE, AND ONE MORE THING, IM NOT EVEN GOOD ENOUGH FOR TRUE GAMING" |

I understand fully where everyone's frustration is coming from and I apologies for it taking so long for someone to address this. Shadowwinter's post pretty much sums up the current situation with bouboum moderators. All of the TFM mods have their work cut out for them on Transformice and either have no time or interest to play and moderate bouboum. Hiring moderators is a time consuming ordeal and requires the mod team to watch for ideal players and all agree on suitable people. It also requires Sydoline to approve and hire people, in which she's currently too busy to look over at the moment. We could hire players from TFM but the issue that lies there is that they may not ending up moderating bouboum much if at all. For what it's worth, I've started taking more of an interest in bouboum recently so there is at least one mod logging on now. The biggest issue i've seen with hackers is that it's very hard to prove beyond doubt that someone is hacking unless they use hacks carelessly or often. There's times when it's absolutely clear, but there's always those grey areas. To try and help this i've been researching and reporting hacks I can find to Tigrounette so that he can patch them, but it could be a while before they're looked at since he has so much on his plate already. Bouboum isn't forgotten; moderators and patches will come eventually. It's just not something likely to happen very soon. I know that might not be good enough for some players and I understand. In the meantime all I or the other mods who are interested in Bouboum can do is just do our best in banning hackers. |

Whiskypickle a dit : Where do I begin. You say you're in touch with Tigrounette. I'm proven wrong a certain amount of times and truthfully, along with my friends and a majority of Bouboum players nowadays, we tend to disagree to that. As much as I am looking forward to new moderators, I know that isn't going to happen anytime soon, cause things have not pretty much changed since this third-party software "thing", if I may, has come around. Well, I have thought of a solution which would probably have dozens of arguments, but the idea's simple. I've seen a wanna-be "anti-cheat" system around in Bouboum (I'm not stupid, I like scripting, I know what an anti-cheat sys would look like in this game) which is on the right track, yet quite inefficient. Basically, what it does, based on my observations, is that it scans a clients movement speed and when it passes a certain limit, the player (the hacker, in this case) gets booted out of the round. As much as this could solve some of the problems, the system needs to be more strict. It needs to scan a players passed tiles per second (lets say if he passes 3 tiles per second, without a speed bonus, he gets booted from the round) and react corresponding to the event. Now, a lot of you may have this quite "bold" argument called "Lag" or "Ping issues, due to not being foreing", but, as much as you people may not like this, ping limits would be great. What these'd do would limit the ping of each player to 500 and if a player who IS NOT from the server he plays in, he gets kicked out. Now, however, if a native player's IP has a ping over 500, he may stay into the server, cause it might as well be his ISP. Not sure if it makes sense, it's 2AM, but I tried my best. On the other hand, however, I'll respect anyones opinion on this, if it includes at least a slight dish of tolerance towards me and would give me the good and the bad this could bring to the table. Of course, there's this David versus Goliath thing which makes me doubt wether this will be talked about anyways, but meh, might as well quit this collapsing building with a good point. P.S. I do completely agree with what Tech said, which is Techtriostep a dit : I'm 15 and I mean, I, not trying to be arrogant, have more brain than one or two developers out there, and all I can say is, this guy is right. I don't have no great quotes from well-known people, but it's something like: "If you want to stop the bleeding, you clean the wound first." |
