But...it's popular game? |
2 | ||
it has gotten enough attention and the new players are still slowly incoming. tfm had its peak before and they have now flushed it away with shit handling (from too many factors) and DM release, so i think it deserves on where it is now. Dernière modification le 1519846740000 |

It is popular but not that much ask some people on youtube or other websites do they know it and answer woul be most of the times yet it is popular but i don't think it is popular enough i just feel it |

i only recall of one popular youtuber (iHasCupquake) stumbling upon on this game somehow. cant think of any bright examples coming off from YT cause why a good part of them would want to waste their time in playing this as for their content. sure, its doable, but the possibility is very low, if were speaking of YTers... |

Less popular than other games it's related to, but I don't want it Minecraft-tier levels of famous anytime soon. I'm not being hipster- it's just that if it were to flood, it would mostly be kids because of visual appeal. Admins would have to pander to them if they want to keep the popularity. A fandom would inevitably follow, and we know how that all spirals down (Undertale, FNAF, Minecraft, etc.) In the long run, tfm will either slowly die out as users go on it less and less or it undergoes a sort of roller coaster like the above post until it becomes trendy to hate it, eventually combusting on itself. I would like it to be a little more popular than it is now so that the forums at least look alive. Underrated? Yep. Dernière modification le 1520350260000 |

This game had it's huge increase of players in 2012 and 2014 due to advertisements. I can agree that this game is not so popular, since most of the time if you'd ask someone if they ever heard of it, they'd just say a straight no. Atelier801 is so far the best flash games maker, and well, regarding youtube IhasCupquake and Wisteriamoon gathered quite a few of attention here. Sadly, admins now are busier improving the newest game Dead Maze, more than finding a way to attract new players on Transformice. Still have to say that it's been 8 years and the game is still going, so I don't see problems. |

Coming from someone that's been here since 2010, yes this game used to be a lot more popular when it was first launched. Around 2012 it probably reached it's peak of 75k people online at the busiest time and at least 20k at all times. Don't think this is very accurate, butL https://www.similarweb.com/website/transformice.com#overview Shows the average visitor only stays for 2:45 minutes. And the ranks dropped drastically with the amount of visitors. Also haven't been here in a while, but just saw this: https://atelier801.com/topic?f=5&t=900195&p=1 The first page comments all say recycled, which doesn't really keep the older players entertained really. Sure it might attract new players, but what's the retention rate? Dernière modification le 1523852160000 |

They suck at maintaining players happy and entertained, it doesn't promote a friendly environment half the time 1 room will be completely different or a hostile environment the next its players complaining about some and maybe you'll find a good room. I wish they would promote modules more, advertise them in the game and give you more of a reward for doing them. Most players who want to paticipate in this "free" game dont really have alot of options when it comes to getting outfits i guess, i mean they dont make it easy to get what you want without cheesefarming or grinding to get that stuff but most players dont want that and they cant enjoy the game. Its a game that only updates items really which takes basically WORK in tfm to get somewhere item wise and doesn't really make it gr8 with the hostile environment it has half the time :') it doesn't add to the game-play, chat has not really changed its still basic its not even expressive or detailed :/ its just the exact same stuff you know the common messages about the shaman and saves etc they dont add to survivor, bootcamp, racing, or any other things at all basically. .__. they just change massive things that drastically change game play which upsets players, they don't really add anything obviously and constantly talked about in the game. You never hear players always talking about the fun new things other then the fur which costs money to new or poor players l\ (in survivor it still says ///////// is now your shaman, follow her! Thanks to //////////,we gathered 0 cheese!) |

Transformice is a game with an excellent foundation, but it lacks in many departments. For starters, the game's content is horrendously unbalanced and gives off a very unprofessional vibe from an integrity standpoint. How is it that divine mode is unlocked at only 5000 saves? And why is duct tape singlehandedly more powerful than all other skills in the game combined, with the added insult to injury of not even being a top row ability? On top of that, why is the most powerful skill available in divine, but a weaker version (cloud) is not? While on the topic of shaman, why is it that the developers seem to hate their own creation so much? Consumables are absolutely ridiculous in terms of shamans building. It's come to the point where I don't even blame people for not learning how to build anymore. Why learn building when every time it's just going to be destroyed by balls and planes? And it's not like you'd be likely to learn much anyway even if you wanted to with the current map rotation. You're incredibly unlikely to actually have a building map on your shaman turn these days, and even if you do get one, your build's gonna get destroyed by throwables. And then there's fight maps. STOP! Teleporters. Grapnel. Ancestral spirit. Need I list any more? Then there comes the problem of modules not being fully incorporated into the game. So many people play deathmatch etc, but then never gain any real stats on their profile for this. To me personally that just makes it feel like a waste of time. Back in the early days of transformice there was nothing more gratifying than unlocking a new title, but now so many players seem to never even make it to the 10k mark because of all the distractions from the main gamemode. Another sore sight are these forums. It's clear the admins have just completely given up on the suggestions forum and just allow anything to be spammed there. This is a problem because I see that as the main gateway of communication between the players and the people behind the scenes. Because the suggestions forum is left to be such a cesspool, no one higher up is ever going to go digging through for actual feedback or worthwhile suggestions. This is especially frustrating in cases like stated above where something is severely unbalanced in game but nothing is ever done about it. A final point I'd like to touch is the recent addition of tags to usernames. Why in hell does transformice need a tag system, when games with exponentially larger communities like league of legends get by just fine without one? Do they just implement any random ideas that pop into their heads? I don't comprehend in the slightest the direction this game is taking. So no, Transformice is not an underrated game. It had excellent potential, but much like pokemon go the developers killed off the momentum it had going for it, both by their handling of the game, and in wasting time on other projects like dead maze. Transformice will always hold a special place in my heart, but I absolutely hate what it's become. |

Force_shaman a dit : Why you gotta hate on Deadmaze :'( |
5 | ||
Force_shaman a dit : The reason why League of Legends doesn't use a tag system is because there can only be one of each unique username created in the region. I registered on both EUW and EUNE with the same username and same email. The only reason it passed is because they're two totally different servers, hosted in totally different countries. Companies like Riot can afford to do that. They earn so much money every day in order to keep their servers up and running. Tags were implemented for Transformice because it shares the same community platform as Dead Maze. Users who were interested in DM but not interested in Transformice found that they couldn't find usernames they liked, due to the fact that all of the good ones were already taken from Transformice users. Not only that, but many people ended up selling accounts or trading them for something else which had some value, only because they got rare names. People even offered money to the admins directly in order to have their usernames changed to ones already taken (which never went through, mind you). If Atelier801 was as big as Blizzard, or Riot, they would probably have the money to afford multiple servers which didn't run on the same hub. But they're an indie company, which is something you should respect. For a small company like this to keep on for a good 8 years, it's very rare and actually almost impossible to do. This is why they've had to branch out to different games, just to see where they stand. They're looking for more revenue because Transformice just wont do it. They brought out collector items for a reason (albeit this wasn't really well thought), and they're bringing out new items and furs nearly every week for more money too. At this point, they've become desperate. Force_shaman a dit : The difference between Transformice and Pokemon Go is that PKMNGo still earns heaps of cash every day (about $1MIL), whereas Atelier801 has had to try and sustain themselves all this time throughout the course of their existence. It's so unfair to compare such a big company like Nintendo to a small company like Atelier. They do not have the staff, nor the money, to ever make something like Pokemon Go. It wouldn't get as much attention and it would not make money. I think you really need to understand where I'm coming from, and why Atelier does what it does, from a professional and logical point of view. |

I understand that they are an indie company and all that, however that does not alleviate my frustration as a player. Players can already use numbers in their usernames and that should honestly suffice. The difference between usernames with numbers and usernames with tags is that instead of only those with numbers getting a little bummed, everyone in the entire game has to deal with it instead. And please lets be honest, how many people actually play their non-transformice games? Not only can they not afford multiple hubs, they don't need them. Also Pokemon go is not made by Nintendo, only sponsored. If it had been made by Nintendo it's problems would have actually been addressed. Pokemon go is actually made by Niantic, an indie company with little experience, hence why I found it appropriate to compare it to transformice. Money isn't even an issue in the first place; I thought I made it very clear that my concerns are not that we don't have tons of new features or whatever but rather that what we do get makes the game worse. Again I feel for them having built themselves up as an indie company, but that fact alone isn't going to make me stop feeling how I feel about this game. From my perspective what I see is a game I love dying, and they just keep working on other things. And yes, they are absolutely free to do that, it's their company with their own interests. However that does not exempt them from the criticism of neglecting their previous ones. |
