some of the communities are small as fuck, hopefully by them applying they would do better to the main servers (otherwise watching over extinct server seems meaningless). at least to where I am from and the activity, are about as dead as they can be and seems weird they are looking from such small community as this. to speak the truth; ive spotted more of the players from my community in EN or other major servers rather than in their own...for example; EE/LV/LT servers could just merge together into Baltic server, similar as to Skandinavian. im not too deep into this but i think its time to purge otherwise keeping the small servers with barely one or two rooms running is being more than a problem rather than some sort of benefit. less hassle in overall and will give some reliefs to their non-existent tight schedule of plans to come. Don't even try to be a moderator for CZ-SK server, it is a waste of time because they reject you anyways waiting one month and then nothing. |

Ae_86 a dit : Just because a community is small does not mean it suddenly is a utopia. The Latvian server, for example, has recently had severe issues such as doxxing. Of course, issues like inappropriate sex chat and sometimes, toxicity and suicide suggestions prevail too. The reason Scandinavian countries are merged in VK are because the languages are more or less similar enough to be intelligible for the non-native speaker. However, EE has nothing in common with LV and LT and LT is different enough for LV to be unintelligible. Dernière modification le 1594064220000 |

Yuki a dit : When you apply, it's not guaranteed you'll be given the position. Every application will be thoroughly checked, and some applicants might not fit into a staff position because of different reasons. Applicants will receive a rejection when one (or more) of the following situations apply:
It is important for a moderator to be mature, responsible and fluent in English for communication barriers. If your application gets denied, we will send you a PM with your application - provided that we have your correct username and tag. We advise you to reflect on yourself and review the application to determine how you can improve yourself to be a better candidate. If you need further help in doing so, please refer to the Apply yourself to applying thread. |

Why should I know English properly, when I tried to be a moderator on CZ-SK server? I'm talking about laziness and about mods that never come to cz-sk server when we reported people that broke the rules every day with insults, racist, homofobia and etc., spam on café. If mod team couldn't join for two minutes, copy words from our language and translate it for example with google translator, why you have the rules? Second thing Avelery did every thing that you wrote and her's apply got denied anyways. I'm already 18 years old, they didn't ask for her id or anything like that so it's their fault because we got 15 questions but neither question contained something about id. Third thing if you are so good in writing these things please tell me and teach me how to make an effort for apply and having the personality traits. Good luck to everyone and have a nice day! :) |

Yuki a dit : You need to be fluent in English because you have to communicate with about 100 staff members from all over the world without causing missunderstandings. It is also the language used to discuss important issues that require en masse decision making. It is also the language that would be used for training and monitoring purposes. Yuki a dit : Each moderator from the team has applied for a position within a specific community and they have to moderate that respective community as a priority. Consider that reports come in continuously and some of them require a significant amount of uninterrupted time for proper checks. We also try to answer whispers we get while playing (oftentimes unsuccessfully, because they can amount to even 40 chatboxes open at a time). Personally, I moderate as follows: reports from my own community (RO), Cafe on my own community, whisper reports of hackers, whisper reports of other rulebreakings (and most of the times I contact a mod from that respective community do deal with the issues). At the same time, when players see mods online, they tend to try to reach us in any possible way, not realising that we cannot possibly be faster, so we get messages on Discord and forum as well with live reports, for which they expect immediate answer. Now add to all of that reports from a community whose language we don't understand, whose player base we do not know and with whom we have not built any communication rapport (can we trust the person reporting to make accurate unbiased reports?) and for which checking reports takes twice the time, meanwhile all other reports are piling up. This is the reason I (personally) choose to ask non-RO players that have to report a serious matter (like harrasment for example) on the forum, via private message explaining what is happening and bringing proofs (no, we don't accept screenshots, but they represent a good starting point for an 'investigation'). Keep in mind that we are volunteers - that means we give our time, experience and energy without having any benefits - so we are free to decide how much we want and can afford to invest in moderating. To wrap up this point, we are not lazy, we are overwhelmed. Yuki a dit : The fact that Avelery is publicly sharing information about not only the fact that they applied, but how the process went and what our response was, represents a very clear proof for us that they cannot follow simple instructions - it was clearly indicated that discretion is required and applicants should not share the fact that they applied, the process or the outcome. Any further information I am happy to discuss directly with Avelery, as this is not something that concerns anyone else but them. Yuki a dit : Checking IDs is one of the last things we do. For privacy reasons, we do not request ay documentation unless we are absolutely sure that the candidate is suitable for the position they applied. Yuki a dit : Please take the time to properly read the answers you receive. Santa#0010 provided information about that 2 messages above, as a reply to another of your messages: Santa a dit : This is how you can improve an application. As for the 'personality traits', that is not something we groom. You either fit or you don't. I want to believe that this has clarified any questions you might have had. If not, feel free to write a private forum message to any moderator you like. I also suggest you inform yourself properly before you make claims such as the ones you made in your latest message here. All the best! Dernière modification le 1594150560000 |
