Is it really stealing if the cheese is just sitting there? As far as we know, we're just test subjects and some scientists laid out the cheese for us to get through obstacle courses to test our intelligence. And maybe they're testing out some form of magic on us too by making one of us Shaman, but apparently it's temporary magic according to the fact that there is a different Shaman every two minutes.

Now back on topic, I'm pretty sure the mice go into some area behind the background and when the two minutes per round is up they come through the background from the mouse hole. The area behind the background would be like the inside of a wall, if you were to follow mouse stereotypes.

And then the cycle continues...
