| I think you'll find that there's 16+ year olds on here that aren't very mature. But yes, children do tend to be the more immature ones, I think children should not be able to use the internet UNTIL they learn about it, what the consequences are for doing naughty stuff :) And that goes for not just Transformice, but the whole internet, doesn't matter what Game, Social media ect site you're on. As for swearing, I think children tend to overdo it, because it's something they're not allowed to do, I mean, I doubt the children that frequently swear on Transformice just go out swearing at, Mum, Dad, teachers. other students ect, why you ask? Because the children don't understand the fact that the internet doesn't give you the right to be a dick, you see, it gives children a sense of freedom once they jump on the internet, it's like they leave the world for a short amount of time, that's why they need to learn the consequences of doing wrong on the internet. And for those saying "Oh their parents should be watching/supervising them" Like seriously? The chat removes itself after a certain amount of other posts are made after it, so being able to monitor what your child says on the internet, (on this game) would be near impossible. It's also a case of "Monkey see, monkey do" Kids see someone else doing it, they follow/do it too. |

| ...I.. I just.. feel ashamed of my community (Singapore) chat... I know i am not mature at all yet but... I just see those.. young teenagers, swearing the heck they want and being ignorant is just like an irritation. True that i can use the /ignore button but lets face it, we don't, because we find it entertaining to see someone less experienced then you are. Everyday i just see the stupider ones getting bullied by the stupid ones, and then the less stupid ones join in the conversation and then suddenly everyone becomes stupid. Each is trying to prove themselves right while the audience just keeps quiet and watch. I know the other community will have worse but I.. I just need to know how these people live... |

Fierying a dit : i feel ashamed too because i'm in the exact age group that's being targeted this pretty much sums up tfm i think because there's so many young people that watch older people swear like they wish so then they follow them. then more young people come on and see those young people swearing so they say "oh, it must be alright to swear on the internet then!" the bullying problem is bad too because outright irl they tell people to not bully people yet they do and some aren't even punished i'm not talking about -13 aged kids either that are bullying other people, i'm talking about people over the age of 13 as well since let's face the facts this community is shit |

Fierying a dit : Internet exposes young people to swear words easily and since some don't know when to use them and when not, which results in unneccessary swearing.(Though i chose not to swear out loud at all) Pretty much what most people said. |

| I just feel like some of them abuse that they can swear, as in most games they can't and will be automatically muted or banned |

| if only there was something that existed that could prevent them from posting certain words..... rather than allowing them to say whatever vulgarity they want and then having them maybe get in trouble if they're reported properly...... hmmmm |

| Why are you being so confrontational again? Unneeded. |

| I don't think she was being confrontational with that comment - moderators have said on multiple occasions that /chat rooms are not going to be moderated. I fail to see how giving the staff more to deal with by moderating these would help with the overall problem, if anything it'd just spread out the existing staff even more. |

| Okay, what do mods even do then? I thought the job of mods were to moderate. |

Flufferbug a dit : ^ (I posted earlier about how I think it's a good thing under-aged people can play this game.) I've had a really tough life, and when I was 8 I started playing computer games. I played a few creative pixel games, and thankfully; they were my rescue. If it wouldn't have been for these little games, I would've probably ended up suiciding, or becoming a violent, criminal person. I did develop an addiction for these games, and the internet in general... But that was still better than the other option. And nowadays; everyone play computer/video games. And if the under-aged people can't play GOOD, creative, rather peaceful games life Transformice... Then they will simply start playing violent non-creative games such as: Assassin's Creed, Grand Theft Auto, Slenderman and so on... And let me put down a few facts for you: No matter how much people say "video-games don't make us violent", the truth still remains that they actually DO make us violent. They help us develop anger issues, hatred and whatnot. And wasn't the world a LOT more peaceful and pleasant during the 90's? When I was underaged, kids showed RESPECT for older people, and they would NEVER dare to curse or insult an older person. Back then, we played things such as Mario, Crash Bandicoot, QBert and so on... But now... Just look at the world. 10-Year-olds insult their parents, they shout "whore" at their mothers, and abuse their younger siblings. And sadly, insults are one of the first things children learn in life. I'd say: Let the children stay sane, and polite by letting them play GOOD games, such as TFM. |

Gullan a dit : Well firstly, insults are far from the first things children "learn" in life if they're brought up properly. Secondly, "No matter how much people say "video-games don't make us violent", the truth still remains that they actually DO make us violent." Supports my point that children under the age of 13 are not ready to face the violence/vulgarity that can be said in tfm's open chat. It's scientifically proven that underage minds can be effected very poorly by this. It's very concerning for me, because I very much would like my little sister to play this and because of this problem... i just can't let her. So perhaps not banning everyone underage but changing the rules and tweaking the language filter to ... actually filter? Despite being able to make friends on the internet and have your "life" saved, other people could make enemies and have their "life" ruined..... |

Spookshow a dit : So in other words: You want to create a law world-wide that children under the age of 13 wouldn't be allowed to play any virtual games? I'll let you know right away: That won't happen. So when it comes to choosing what type of game a kid should be playing; everyone would choose TFM over things like GTA or Assassin's Creed. Enough said. |

Shamousey a dit : Yes, thank you Liam for reading my mind lol. I went to Yogiibear with an issue in a community/country chat and was told it was considered private and they couldn't moderate it. So you know what I did? I used the ignore system as that is what it is there for. I don't see what an AMERICAN rating system has to do with anything though? And yeah sure GTA and Assassin's Creed are rated M but kids play em anyway. So you've really shot yourself in the foot with that. |

Spookshow a dit : That's pretty much how you're expressing yourself. TFM is one of the few good games out there, why would one want to make it unavailable for kids? As that would mean they would switch over to using violent games. |
| « Censeur » 1392134220000

| It technically should be unavailable though given COPPA rules. They're not gonna "swap" to violent games though. There's still a shitton of games for kids out there (Neopets, Animal Jam, ClubPenguin, whatever kids play nowadays. It was always Neopets and Nick.com for me lol) |
