| Gullan... Trying to relate those games to my argument is silly. There are ratings to use as a guide for parents to decide what their young children should be playing by the content. The internet versions of the games all have warnings that they are unrated so that people know there is no moderation of chat.... but transformice has moderators that COULD be moderating their chats.... and they don't have the game labeled mature or unrated... which is why they should be moderating.... "13+" is not mature content and they're pretty much allowing the site to be "r-rated" rather than "pg13" |

| Again, you still can't grasp the concept that the game is considered 13+ due to COPPA rules and therefore, it is given a "PG-13" rating. Since you're talking about the rating system, PG-13 includes language and mild sexual expression. |

Spookshow a dit : Parents can't always keep track on what their kids are doing, and as it looks today: Kids do whatever they want, wether their parents are watching or not. And the reason why TFM isn't labeled "Mature" is simply because it ISN'T mature. It's a creative any-age game, which sadly happens to have a few bad eggs that choose to insult and mock others. - But then again, that's reality. Pretty much anywhere you'll look, you'll notice that there in fact ARE bad people. And if all the chats would be strictly moderated; people would still find a way around that. As typing backwards, or using chat language. |

| I didn't say it was lol. I have no problems with rape being filtered as it is something that triggers me, and mods DO handle cases where remarks about rape/rape jokes are made. You just have to report it. |

| But it is mature due to open chat...... which i said pages back. |

Gullan a dit : TFM was originally meant for ages 15+ but I can agree with this point 100%. a dit : Yeah, I see this a TON on the BR server. You wouldn't believe how many ways people can get around the filter on "puta" ("bitch"). |

| How fucking silly of me to want mods to actually moderate or have a language filter that actually blocks vulgar language. Or have the "13+" rule changed if nothings going to be done about it. Sorry everyone. I'm Leaving now. Carry on with whatever. Just don't try it because "there's ways around everything" or because you're "too busy". |

| I see your point; but please understand that it is NOT the game's fault they are under thirteen yet play, and expect the community to be peachy-keen everything's fine in the neighborhood. It is a game with older players as well as younger. The filter does pretty good actually. Not the best, but it's not the worst. Moderators focus on HACKERS above everything, as was pointed out to you a few pages ago. I'm sorry that bothers you. Since you can't ignore a hacker but can ignore someone who's throwing a fit in chat, that's why they take priority. |

| All I can say is that I don't think 9-13 year olds swear and talk about sex and things due to other people mentioning it on a game like this. It's either a parenting fault or some very gross site that they've been on. Not a few words someone says on a mouse game. :/ To be honest, as soon as you set foot in the internet, these kind of things are everywhere. Changing the chat rules or whatever would be pointless. They'll find worse elsewhere. I mean, I actually came across pornography on Facebook... I didn't think that was even allowed. So whatever happens here probably doesn't make any affect at all. Plus, it's the parents responsability. I totally agree with Haruh about the 'rape' thing though. Whenever it's joked about, I try to make them see that's it's just not a joke and a word you should throw around. I know people who have been through trauma and just the word can upset them. So perhaps putting a filter on that word would be helpful. |

| Even though I'm in this age group (11), I don't curse that much in-game, and I'm slowly trying to not swear on the forums too much either. Some children, many younger than me, swear nonstop and just act immature in general. Some of these kids know stuff that I don't even know about, and I'd like to keep it that way, but it's almost impossible with it being said all the time. It's rediculous. The worn-out excuse of "But, they hear these words all the time in everyday life!" Is getting old. That doesn't mean they're allowed to fling curses around carelessly like some people do. Also, I also don't like the "rape" jokes. They aren't funny. It's an incredibly sensitive subject to almost anyone, and should be used so freely. It's not funny. It's offensive. So please, be sensible about what you're saying before you sound like a total idiot. |

| I agree with the rape jokes, especially due to the fact that my old tribemates use to make rape jokes about me all the time -_- I do have a question though... (Since I am from the young age group) does swearing immediately make you immature? Because I have a HUGE foul-mouth so telling me not to swear is like telling me not to speak ever again (And no I didn't find these words from some weird site) I try my best to not swear too much in public rooms but when I'm just talking to my friends I let it all out. |

Gullan a dit : I don't think so. The 90s actually were one of the most violent decades in the history of the United States. ![]() Interestingly, Doom was released in 1993, the year rape rates (and murder rates, too!) started falling. Moreover, I haven't heard of any studies that'd confirm "games make us violent" theory. Back to topic, you can't possibly enforce such strict rules as "no swearing" or whatnot in every room (or chat or whatever) in the game. There simply isn't enough manpower around to do that. About the +13 rule, this is just a way to ensure lawyers get away from Atelier and stuff like that. I've never seen anyone actually enforce it and I've been playing this game for quite some time. |

| Lookey here. I've got proof why they don't want to go back to the little MMO's. They got bored of it. For example, a little kid started acting very goofy in-game. Some people started saying "GO BACK TO FANTAGE, KID" and "CLUB PENGUIN IS FOR YOU, GTFO THIS GAME" Then the kid started swearing and left. My prediction: Kids are getting tired of playing those kiddie virtual worlds and exploring the internet more. They also get pissed of by their parent/guardians/bullies so they stay on games for comfort. Sometimes they end up in the bad side of the internet. (Not saying tfm is bad peace) We're in the age where kids want to have more rights, but don't understand the effects/responsibilites/dark side. It depends on how actually mature an underage is, but I keep on seeing kids swear and talk about them too much. Sadly reality. |
