I suggest that if the tribe has at least 100 members, an item will appear in shop that you can buy for (You can change this price, or the number of members) 300 cheese. It will be a tiny flag mouth item with some default color... say, blue. Then the tribe name. If it's long it will be like this:

If its short it will be like this:

And you can customize the color background on flag, the pole color, but the letter color will stay black. (unless you want to add customization on that.) Here is a bad picture of the size of the item compared to the mouse:
