Jets a dit : Hi, I’ve answered your question in the thread you made. |

Bemmh a dit : You said and I quote a dit : Correct me if I'm wrong but MapCrew is able to edit players map XML in addition to copy their XML, so why don't you simply edit the current maps to add Halloween decorations? Re-exporting the map under MapCrews credit IS stealing someones work. Sources: Uskil a dit : I'm not butthurt over perming, i have never created a map. I'm just stating facts. King a dit : It saves us a lot of time not having to re-edit every single map after the month is over to remove the decorations. And if we are being brutally honest, all maps are owned by the admins. |

Bemmh a dit : Okay I can accept that all maps are owned by admins, but if the mapcrew re-exports players maps, shouldn't they all be re-exported under Mapcrew#0020 account and not by a personal mapcrew member like yourself? Bemmh#0020 - @7647745 Could I go ahead take a certain survivor map XML, add decorations and export it under my name for it to be on rotation for this month? |
5 | ||
King a dit : We wanted to get the maps into rotation as quick as possible to allow players to have time to actually play on the halloween themed maps. It does take quite some time copying XMLs and loading them in another account to export the map there. I quite honestly don't see the bigger issue here, it's for one month and it's all for some good fun. Using the Mapcrew account would more or less be the same as any Mapcrew member using their own account. |

Bemmh a dit : No it's definitely not? As using MapCrew account shows united front while using your personal accounts to again, *copy*, players maps and add decorations make it looks shady. Extra work or not it seems like an excuse to cover your personal fuck up as youre the only mapcrew member that re-exported maps under their personal account. That is the real credit steal. Bemmh a dit : Then why have a Mapcrew#0020 / Mapcrewone#0020 account? Bemhh taken from another threead a dit : If it was done in the past, it only makes sense that the maps were already made with decorations before so all it took is to change map categories. And if there's a situation where some newer maps are added, they are only a few and would have taken minutes to re-export them. To be honest quite a few survivor players noticed this and I speak in their behalf when I say that this just looks shady. |

King a dit : It’s clear to me that you haven’t seen all the maps, because I’m not the only Mapcrew member that exported the Halloween themed maps on their personal account. I would’ve used the Mapcrew#0020 account, but as you likely know, it’s an account used by all full Mapcrew members, which means that it’s not always available, the same goes for the other Mapcrew account. Yes, there is old edits and yes we could’ve used them. However, is it wrong to want something different? Especially since we got given a new ground and several new decorations. We simply didn’t want to put the same maps into rotation again. It would have taken more than a few minutes to use the old maps as well as add decorations to the newer added maps. We’d have to go through every single old edit and make a new list of those maps still in rotation, as there’s not only new maps, but old maps which has been removed. There is more going on behind the scenes than you are aware of. |

We had new members join the team since the last Halloween edit session, myself included, so going through the all former members who did the edits would be a hassle, especially since we don't remember them all due to how long its been. Instead, we found it better to just remake all the edits using the new decorations, and new backgrounds. There is literally no difference whatsoever if a map was exported via our personal accounts or the Mapcrew accounts, they all have the same powers. And I fully agree to what Bemmh mentioned earlier, the Mapcrew accounts are used by an enitre team, you can't expect them to be available to the survivor crew 24/7 for Halloween edits, when other members of the crew want to have their reviewed categories Halloween themed as well. |

Hello. We're going to export all of the Halloween maps to the official Mapcrew account for the remainder of the duration. We hear what you're saying and we agree that they should be exclusively on the Mapcrew account as we've usually always have done in the past. There were multiple members using our official account for other projects that we have in the background so we've been more busy than usual, thus the need for some members to finish using their personal accounts to meet our time restraints. The maps should be exported through our official account and added into rotation within a few hours or tomorrow at the latest. We thank the community for bringing this to our attention as the Mapcrew and the community has always had a good relationship in regards to the maps we bring to rotation. |

There is no distinction between one blue name and the other, they all represent the same team and should be seen as such. The fact someone's integrity is being questioned based solely on the account that is used to provide a service to the community is just disrespectful and disregarding the effort these Mapcrew have done to surprise and entertain the community. |

Technically what about the maps they made before joining Mapcrew? Do they also suddenly represent the team instead of the person that created them? |

Anythin a dit : I have not disrespected anyone, I'm quite surprised that you as a former MapCrew do not know how much map making is important to players. Having a Map Permed is considered as an achievement to many players, by Bemmh re-exporting other persons maps under their *own private account* it looks unfair obviously, it's more efficient but again, unfair and unnecessary because you can export it via Mapcrew#0020 and it wont harm anyone. Incase you forgot, Map Creators do provide a service to the community and it's disrespectful to take their work and their credits. :) After all there can't be mapcrew without maps. |

King a dit : Since all maps will return to normal within a month, there is no harm done and all original map makers remain credited for their work. But if you want to go technical, you should be aware that every map belongs to Atelier801 the second it gets exported. As representatives of Atelier801, the Mapcrew can do with your maps as they please, within reason. The fact mapmakers are credited for their work through their name in the map title is a nice gesture, but it's not something you're entitled to. Regardless, this is a temporary change so there is no need to make this bigger than it really is. King a dit : *Sentinel |

Bemmh a dit : Let me ask something, you mention the event will last a month? I am far more willing to bet that it will be two months, do you have any information about the one-month claim? |
1 | ||
Barberserk a dit : The one month comment isn't about the official event, it's about how long we have planned to keep the Halloween themed survivor maps in rotation (until the end of this month)! |

Zyx a dit : It automatically joins you to the national chat according of your PC's IP, there's not way to disable it in my opinion, just leave it manually when you log on. |
