After getting ticked off by many rule breakers, looking through the suggestion list, and looking through six pages of suggestions made, I have a suggestion. So, I have recently discovered there were official rules to this game, through the forums in announcements, and realized there's a ridiculous amount of general vulgarity in the chat. I go to the report button for someone who says (sorry to say it) "fuck" in a rage or in an insult, along with other forms of the word (Examples: Adding an ing, ed, etc.) to report the person. I get five options. I get hacks, spam/flooding, insults, phishing, and other. I file the report under other, and make a general description in the comments of what happened. That isn't too hard, but it gets annoying having to make a comment every report under other, and I haven't even had any reports for some other rule breakings the button doesn't cover. I know a report button upgrade has previously been suggested, but with different ideas. (This is assuming the report button isn't upgraded in a certain way) As for the forums report section, I recently had an encounter on a map where there was a button making a person's pants falling down (allowing mice to get back to the mouse hole easily, because his legs were non-solid while the pants were solid), the person then wearing underwear. The shaman then puts a vertically-facing wooden plank downwards from the underwear, puts two beach balls near each other on top of the plank, and adds a bunch of rotating (aqua) anchors. The creation is very likely the male genitials in a perverted manner (breaking rule about obscene maps.) I tell him I don't think it is allowed for being obscene, and the shaman thinks nothing will happen. I go to the report button, there's nothing I can do it with without leaving a MASSIVE comment and trying to link to a screenshot. I go to these forums, and there's no area to report a person nor post much about it, aside from whining about a random rule breaker in a misc. section. Because this is not the report (therefore having no evidence), I understand if you don't believe this happened, but the situation could happen even if this wasn't true. TL;DR : Make the report button cover every broken rule, or add report section in forums to report people you can't report with the current report button. As this is my first post and thread on the forums, note to me if I am doing something wrong. For all I know i'm doing one of the worst and annoying things on here. Edit 1: Cleaning up typos in this edit, nothing else |

Well you see, these are just ordinary day stuff. I mean, people acting mean and immature is pretty much 80% of the community! Even though people swear, you can just ignore them (I mean the button not internally). But a mod wont ban someone just because they are swearing, because as I said, it's just normal to us. Even though I agree with you, this might not happen. It's nearly impossible now to stop people from being mean and immature. Not saying I hate this idea though. |

well i think your being a little too harsh, these things happen everyday, mostly everyone in tfm swears. It's not really something I think you should report. I only report when it's like a massive amount and it's directed to me. For example, this one guy started talking about my fammily and me and stuff in a way i didn't like but it wass like huge amount of swearing not just one word. And for the map thing, they were just trying to be funny...i think |

there used to be a report a user topic but it was never checked most mods dont even mess with the forums and by the time they get to the topic the user is off in reference to what happened, mods would've have to have been in the room and had seen it happen. :/ you also need two people to report, and you likely would've been the only one. Kredos a dit : lol excuse you you do know that when swearing is excessive it earns a mute right?? |

So, based on what i'm getting...The no general vulgarity rule is practically unexistant (Meaning lots of vulgarity goes under breaking the spamming rule.) As for being harsh, I am reporting based on the rules given to me, and will gladly stop reporting if I can confirm vulgarity should not be reported for anymore. Many mice were in the room during the inappropriate build, and I could request to them they speak about it. The room wasn't a room someone created and has 3-5 mice, it was a public room you are sent to if you click on a certain category in the main map. As for the 80% of the community is bad...sure there is, but i'm sure almost everyone when very mad in a real life situation wanted to kill someone out of anger, which is a very bad idea unless they attacked you badly. There's a rule against it though, and people follow it (this is giving a point, with a much higher level scenario.) Also, if I was harsh I would report for every single bad word under vulgarity that wasn't very toned-down like dang it. I also don't expect a ban from swearing once, that sounds ridiculous even though I hate swearing and never swear now. I report once expecting for the player to be given a reminder (warning or plain reminder) that vulgarity is against the rules. If the person swears a bunch (like having a "flame war") I report under insults commenting about vulgarity, which would be worse than swearing once. Edit 1: I agree with your point, Kredos, that it's nearly impossible to stop the community from being mean, immature, and from doing bad things like swearing. However, the times i'm talking about are when people say very vulgar words every couple minutes like there's nothing wrong with vulgarity, and during heated arguments swear in every sentence. I even reminded a person about a rule saying he shouldn't be doing it, and he/she responded (Not verbatim) that he/she wouldn't be warned and that it was fine. Edit 2: Mods wouldn't likely be in the room, unless they were omnipresent. I didn't report at all, so the mods would think everything was going fine. |
