This is going to be shot down very quickly, let me explain. Since my area of expertise as a Helper is more or less Bugs, I do my best to help people in the Bugs section. HOWEVER, people who don't know what they're talking about come in, thinking they can help. Example: - When I try to spawn items in game, I don't see the shadow of them. I see them when they spawn however? This is a known issue caused by fortresse and bouboumb rooms. This is known. But when someone posts this, someone who doesn't know the bugs in game is gonna say "it's lag." "Restart the game." "Maybe it's your internet." I wish I could be lying about these responses but I'm sadly not. Someone even said that they should "restart their internet" when their tribe house items weren't showing above their background. I regularly end up going through Bugs and having to correct people on their replies. It can be very confusing for the OP to read this as well. People who should be permitted to reply to topics in bugs: - LUA devs - Mods - Admins - Sentinels - Map crew Plus letting the OP reply so that they can let people know if it works, as well as a few other chosen people. I admit I sometimes get shit wrong, but I know of multiple users who don't get quite any of their replies right. |

I still chuckle a bit everytime I see 'It's lag!' replies. =p I know all too well about this and I don't mean to shoot you down ;; but to be honest I still feel everyone should be able to reply and post in Bugs. While staff posts are very much appreciated and are more likely to be accurate and helpful, there's still a significant amount of the general community that are able to identify and post about bugs properly. Looking over threads in there, there hasn't been any threads that have gone misdiagnosed for long if not at all. It would be cancelling out any positive knowledge and experience the community can bring just to eliminate a small inconvenience. Sadly there's nothing I can suggest instead of this though. If anything, maybe a rule added that is something a long the lines of "Please don't post unless you are sure of what you are saying". Not the best solution I know. =/ |

I could even deal with your proposal!! I might suggest it to a sentinel if they don't see this. Just get the idiots that say everything is lag out of there :@ I do agree with what you're saying, which is why I also said other users approved. You would be a fine example of the other user category, you know about the bugs as is and can help, but you don't fall into the categories. But if sentinels agree to your rule proposal I'd be just as happy. And no usually I jump on them when I see the replies. I've not been warned yet for it though thank god lol |

I said this to you just now on Skype but this probably wouldn't ever be able to be implemented without the HTML forums. That being said, I agree with Whisky that all users should be able to post there but if they have no idea what they're talking about they shouldn't be posting in the first place. I'll talk with the other Sentinels about possibly adding a rule for that; I know we've been getting fed up with them as well. :p |

How about a little "Bugs survey" thing to get approved? Like the questions are about bugs and causes. I dont post alot in bugs but i still want to be able too ;P |

I'm ok with what mausi said about posting a rule because most of the time I know what I'm doing over there but I'm no special user so /support to Mausibiene and /no support for only certain people posting. That's a bit much for the one bad apple of the bunch and nothing says "qualified" users are even qualified themselfs simply because they are staff/lua I find myself constantly correcting staff about several things including mapcrew a few times on maps. they are just as normal as any other user but with powers. |

Actually, since Mausi and other sents talked about having a rule for posts by people who are consistently wrong (and apparently it was approved because one post has already been dealt with), I requested a lock on this. ^^' Kittycattfm a dit : I'm honestly not trying to be mean but you're one of the people who I have to correct a lot. :P |
