I am creating this thread to provide a massive list of suggestions for altier801 concerning the balance of these skills, as well as possible additional skills that can be used to replace badly designed skills or otherwise. First of all, the descriptions on some of the skills could definitely be improved. These in particular: Easy victory/Chief's food - have it state that you can only use the ability when a mouse enters a hole, if thats how it works. Anti-gravity balls - needs to state exactly by how much the balls fall slower at each level. Speed Boost - should note that the boost can be summoned only 3 times. Cloud - should state that you can only summon one cloud. Clean mouse - wording should be changed to say that it happens on the first X deaths. Cleats - wording should indicate that it multiplies friction with existing objects. Opportunist - wording could be clarified to state that you automatically enter the hole with cheese. Automatically winning is a little vague. Rocket scientist - should clearly state that each level increases the blast height. Just saying Level X can be a little confusing. Companion Crate - could state that you can recast the crate to teleport it around. Projection - include "can be used once every X seconds" Angel - should mention that you can use the wings to glide, and that you press and hold up when in the air. Multiple balls - should mention that you summon X more balls whenever you summon a ball. "Summons X more balls" is a little vague. Aerodynamic Balloon - should probably be reworded to lift or something for clarification. Stable rune - What is a "stated" rune, should probably be "stable". Anti-spirit - Describe the Anti-spirit a little. Maybe reword "transparent spirit". Sheep - should mention that you only get 2 sheep. Eagle Eye - slight typo. "Increases your summoning range by 30%" has it worded a little better. And now for balance and making skills cooler, I have several ideas. 1. The superstar and the chocokiss skills are problematic, because mice can easily cancel the animations. Solution: make these animations override other animations for a certain period of time for danceing, or until the kiss completes for kiss. Give a cooldown for this ability so that shamans can't spam it. 2. Teleporter can be used for easy favoritism sometimes - I would suggest only allowing a teleport when a mouse enters the hole, or prevent that mouse from entering a hole until someone gets a first. 3. Anti-gravity balls could probably be a bit cooler. Why not give balls some dampening, to the point that they will float around until someone steps on them. Or is that what it does? 4. Endurance could also be a little cooler maybe. +20% speed is a bit bland. Maybe give a speed bonus for continuously moving in one direction? Or maybe increase the existing speed. 5. Tight budget seems a little bland. Maybe make these planks have a shorter casting time? 6. If acrobat is enabled, casting an object should not interrupt your movement. After all, it doesn't matter if you stop moving, and it prevents an annoying rehit of the movement button. 7. Anti-spirit is weird, it doesn't seem to affect mice close to the spirit. I expected it to just pull up mice that were close to the spirit :(. 8. Architect and Demolition Worker need to be reworked/redocumented to work more clearly and not be buggy (they seem to stop working when there are anchors and the like). Does it remove anchors, for instance? 9. Unburstable should probably be moved up, to encourage more investment in the tree. Its such a great ability, and always worth the 6 point investment (unless you are such a pro shaman that you never have an accidental death). For adding animations/sounds/etc. to improve abilities: Unburstable - make a cool revive animation, this lets people know that the shaman is back in business. Ambulance - it already has a revive animation. But some players will switch to a different window when they afk. Why not give them an audio ping when they revive to warn them that they are back alive? Chief's food - Make an animation around the shaman to show that his cheese disappears and to clue players in on how the skill works. Ancestral Spirit - maybe add something to show that the shaman is still casting, maybe the shaman's ghost rises from the bubbles :P Transformice - maybe a small glow on a mouse to show that they can transform? And why is the name the same as the game? Eagle eye - possibly a change to show that a shaman is taking advantage of the extra range? Its a capstone so it might be a good idea to make it be dramatic and visible. Possible New Abilities: Quiet - Topic-331931 - I suggested possible changes to the ability in that thread. -For fun [not serious] - Snowball fight: The shaman activates this skill to start a snowball fight, allowing every other mouse to throw snowballs with down. The shaman can also spawn snowballs that explode during the fight. Anyways, I would like your feedback. If you have additional suggestions, I will include them in this post and give you credit for them. If I see another shaman skill suggestion I will try to link to it with this thread. Thank you. |

I love this and I completely agree with the 'animations to improve abilities' part. A lot of players just sit there not knowing that they've been revived, or suicide without realising that the shaman has been revived. Awesome post! ^-^ |

Xanthefleur a dit : Thanks. The revive ability already has an animation, but I am going to suggest adding a sound ping, like with starting a new level, to notify players who might be in another window. I also added other suggestions, check them out. |
