Ability to organise your /lsmap for easier use |

So i create a lot of maps, some better than others and overtime my /lsmap gets clogged with hundreds of maps. It would be nice to be able to sort maps in your lsmap. There could be many ways to do this: You could do this by deleting the map, this wouldn't delete the map itself but only the code from your lsmap, this would probably only be used if you are absolutely certain you wont use it in the future. There could be a file/folder system inside the lsmap, here you could move map codes and label the folders with the different map categories there are, or anything the player seems fit. This could be easily accessible by a page number top right with arrows going left and right, each different page would have a title at the top. A limit to the amount of folders would probably be smart. A colour coding system, this may be less efficient but it would be far quicker than the options above and probably only used for quick markings of maps you are currently editing or maps that you won't use anymore, this way if you ever need to you could go back to maps, but at a glance you could easily pick the map you want. This could be useful for people who edit old map codes (like myself) . The key could be similar to this: Not in use Currently editing Permed However what each colour would mean depends on the person who makes them, but this is how i would probably use them despite having no perms. This option could be done automatically if there were buttons within the editor that allowed you to decide what colour to make the code of the map before exporting the map. So i just wrote down my thoughts quickly so not everything may be thought out as well as it seemed when i wrote this down, but nevertheless it would be cool to have a map sorting system of any sort to make things easier. I understand you could do this by simply using a greeting message in a tribe (as i do right now) but it is slightly tedious over time having to add maps, delete maps etc. |

I just thought of this so why not add it: When in lsmap you could be given the option to right click (or any other form of opening a selection box as i thought all maps having a cog button to symbolise "edit" would look bad) and then move to "mymaps" or any name seen fit by tfm mods, this could also be a way to delete maps or move to other folders in mymaps too, but what if there was a seperate folder opened by doing /mymaps (first thing that popped to my head), here you could move maps back to lsmap and this option would probably be faster to add as it does not require adding pages, folders or any possible customisations made by the player. Just an idea that i quickly thought of, so it problem won't be as refined but the idea is a possibility compared to the others in my mind. Dernière modification le 1559686140000 |

I recall seeing a suggestion similar to this proposing showing the map when hovering over it which I liked better as the concept. For me, I doubt if reorganizing them in particular order would be any different - I'd still be lost which code is which, even possibly adding in folders. I think giving some sort of character limit to naming your maps or recognising better is most likely the better way to go for (at least for me), but if it's meant to reduce the clutter as well, then sure, I'm all in for it still. /support |

I do think that the Lsmap interface is a little confusing but I've gotten used to where a lot of my maps are because I reuse old @codes that were either rejected or something I made and don't plan on submitting again, that way I can keep a low number of maps without having to constantly make new codes that spam my menu. I also have to say that you aren't inclined to use Lsmap the way that it is provided, you could save the codes to your computer and organize them in folders with pictures to make it less confusing. You could argue that since this is a game feature, you shouldn't have to use external programs to do something that the game should already do but I don't see Lsmap getting updated any time soon since there hasn't been anything new to maps in general since the introduction of cobwebs. |

Why not, even if I could only sort by perms and star favourites, that still would be good. /support |

Grimmaro a dit : True, i guess if lsmap would ever be updated it would have to come with an editor update. I didn't think of the idea of reusing old maps till a short time ago, and it's honestly kind of annoying sometimes since i already have a lot of maps. But yeah like you suggested it wouldn't be a huge, necessary update but it would really help as i like to keep a minimalist organisation and i imagine others might too - if that makes sense. Thanks for feedback and ideas though. |

Ae_86 a dit : Thanks for the /support (even thought i have no idea how suggestions work entirely) but my idea would not only be re-ordering them but selecting only a few to be in a certain folder (folders are my favourite one as i think it would be the most efficient and customisable)- reading back on your comment i think you understood this i might have just misread it but i will still include this because why not. |

Syrius a dit : Thanks, hope if this will ever be considered it would be more versatile as i'm sure i only covered the essentials. |

What would already be of great help is if you could simply have the option to hide/unhide maps you're not interested in. That way, you can hide all p44 maps and only show those maps that matter. |

Anythin a dit : How would you unhide maps though if they are hidden? There could be a button saying show hidden maps, then they could appear in a different colour/shade to the visible maps. That would probably be better yes. |

/support I'm struggling to find the map I want to use every single time, so I have to test all the codes before I finally find the one. If such a waste of time can be prevented, why not? Dernière modification le 1560787680000 |

/support ! I don't even create maps that often, yet the /lsmap format is still quite frustrating . . . Agreed that something should be implemented to help with this ! |

/half-support I don't think it should be as advanced as you suggest. You're making it way too complex for a simple feature. I think sorting alone by map type PXX or modification date + a preview of the maps would be more than enough. |
