Greetings! Do you have any tattoos? Do you have any piercings? Do you have any other body modifications that you'd like to discuss? Which ones do you have, when did you get them, and what do they mean to you? Are you planning on getting any body modifications in the future? What is your opinion on this topic? If you don't like the idea of tattoos or piercings, go ahead and (respectfully) share your opinion. Feel free to post pictures, if you'd like to! I'll begin.

In 10th grade I got two studs in my lip. They signified me coming into myself, maturing, making my own decisions and controlling my life and my body for the first time.
Shortly after that I pierced my ears (lobe), then got another set of lobe piercings a few months later. There wasn't much symbolism behind those ones.
A few months later I pierced my left nostril.
I believe I was in 11th grade and I pierced my eyebrow. However, I had to take it out a few months later because my body rejected it. It symbolized a bond between my (now ex) boyfriend and myself, as we both got them done.
On the first of December, 2012, I got my first tattoo. It's on the inside of my forearm and it says "Vegan" in beautiful script. Its significance is probably obvious, but I'll explain that it symbolizes my lifestyle, my philosophies on life, my deep compassion for animals and my commitment to this lifestyle.

I plan to get a few more tattoos, though I'm not sure what of just yet, and I would also like to pierce my right nostril, my navel and my ear cartilage.

Well, my mum said she's letting me get a tatoo for my 16th birthday (turning 15 in June, ugh). I'm either getting a triforce or the operator symbol.
As for peircings, mum said I could get one when I'm 17.
So yeah.

That's very nice of your mom! My mother fought tooth and nail to try to prevent me from getting mine. Couldn't stop me once I turned 18, though, haha.

My mom says I can get 3 more ear piercings on each year on my birthday. Can't wait

I had a piercing on my lower right cheek before too, I just dont wear it anymore.

No piercings because I play volleyball and they get in the way

my whole family hates tattoos, and i don't think they'd let me get any soon, but when i'm older i'm planning on getting a small tattoo, i've always pictured having a small, shooting star on the back of my shoulder.

as for piercings, i only have my ears pierced but i'd like to get more in my ears. my mom says i can get some more sometime soon, so i'm happy about that.

my friend has 3 piercings, one on her bottom lip, one in her bellybutton and one in her nose. she got those in grade 7, which i think is way too young to get piercings imo

im getting earrings next year.

But I /am/ planning on getting snake bites when I'm older, as well as some small tattoo or whatever.

I have my ears pierced too and I just don't wear earings anymore..

My mum always says:

Once you turn 18, I dont care how many piercing you get, how many tattoos you get, if you start smoking....It's your life, live it how you like it.

I will probably never do tattoos, because I just couldn't imagine doing that to my body, idk
I don't care if people have them though, I just don't want them myself.

I don't even have my ears pierced because I'd be too lazy to put earrings in them, wouldn't be worth it xP

That's neat! I wanted my first tattoo to be on my foot, until someone told me that it hurts way more because of all the bone. I still plan to get one there, though :P

How badly did that piercing hurt? I always suspected it would be worse than the lip.

That tattoo sounds pretty. And I agree, definitely too young to make a decision like that.

Snake bites are neat. My lip piercings really didn't hurt much - not the first one, anyway. The second one probably hurt badly because I had literally just pierced right beside it, lol.

I never wanted my ears pierced for a long time, either :P I find that I like them a lot now, though, even though I don't change my earrings often

I have none,But im planning on getting my ears pierced.

I got my ears pierced on December I think 2010 or 2011 because of early christmas presents ;-;

My mum wouldn't let me or my sister get our eats pierced until we're 16 (I'm 15 now and she's 22) so I hope to be getting my lobes done soon [: as for my sister when she turned 16 she didn't want them anymore but now has most of the ones you can get on your ear and a nose stud.
I think when I'm older I might get spider bites because I think they're cute [:
As for tatoos...I don't think I'll ever get one but if I had to I'd get one somewhere on my lower back of a heart made up of music clefs(treble clef and bass clef) because I love music and that's what that sign means to me [:
