Do any of you guys lift? How much do you lift? What's your favorite form of exercise?
I'd love to know; I'm a smaller guy thinking about lifting again to improve my health. I did some lifting in highschool and could clean my own weight (115 lbs; oh hey this is still my weight) So I guess that's all the lifting I can speak of...but I can barely lift myself out of bed in the morning. Tell me about your lifting.

Aww thanks lugia.

Sheesh that's some heavy lifting. Sometimes I have to lift my hand off my keyboard and onto my touch pad in order to move my cursor onto a new computer file so that I can continue coding for my programming class; it gets pretty tiring after a while.

Not sure about lifting, I thought I could lift 130kg-150kg or it was 110-130.
Anyways i can press 90, i weigh 70 myself. Not sure what this is in lbs.
To fully optimize your upper muscles i could give some tips for benchpress but i'm not too sure about lifting :')

Shoutout to Ray

I used to do weights about a year ago on a home gym, but uni and lazyness settled in instead. \o/ It's only recently that i've been trying to get back into a routine of fitness again and balancing weights and cycling. (bought a nice cross bike for it too)

All I was doing was various excercises for both upper and lower body from a general exercese guide that came with the gym as well as some physiotherapy for my left knee (I've had some of the cartilage chip off and needed surgery) It wasn't anything too strenuous but it was working, so I guess if you're looking for advice then the hardest hurdle is simply the discipline to keep doing it consistantly. It's certainly the hardest part with me, so if you've got that down then you're set.

I'd like to second this, discipline is more important than your body structure or how 'strong' you think you are.
I started lifting with approx 50k (20kg weights each side, the bar weighs 10), at first it's hard but when you keep on doing the same thing at the same pace (for me it was 3-4 times a week) you'll be able to lift heavier weights in no time.
Same with bench press, when I just started working out I could press 20kg at most (just the heavy bar, without weights). At this moment I build up with 12x 50kg, 8x 70kg, 4x 80kg and then 90kg as much as possible (ranging from 1-4 times). If you manage to find a good gym with a good health instructor and if you think you have the discipline to do this, it's done within no-time.
