So what are Betta Fish? They are small and often colorful fish. They are also called the Siamese Fighting Fish. The Betta Fish have a unique organ called the "Labyrinth" which enable them to thrive in a low-oxygen water condition which most other fish can't. Wild Betta Fish can often be found in small ponds and paddies. They are hardy and can eat almost everything in it's living enviroment. So why are they called Siamese Fighting Fish you ask? Because they flare at rivals and is aggresive to other bettas. They will also attack other fish that resembles or looks like another Betta Fish. Betta Fish can also build bubble nests. It's pretty cool because I seen one of my Betta Fish building a bubble nest before. They mostly live in Asia. In the wild, if a male sees another male, it will defend it's territory. The winner gets the territory while the loser runs away.

If you're looking foward to caring for a Betta, you may need to read this. First of all, let's take a look at some MYTHS of Betta Fish caring. #1. Betta Fish likes to live in small containers. First of all, we may think this because we see in pet stores Betta Fish in small bowls/cups. The minimum size for a Betta tank is AT LEAST 2 gallons. I'm not saying you need to have 2 gallons, it's just Betta Fish are happier there. If you want to, you can keep it in a smaller tank. But vases and bowls are not great for Betta Fish. #2. Betta Fish prefer plants than meat. This isn't true at all. Betta Fish is a carnivore. If you see a Betta Fish eating a root of a plant, it means he's starving. #3. Betta Fish doesn't need heating. This isn't true. Betta Fish are tropical fish and needs a temperature from 79F to 85F. They need a heater!

Betta Fish will attack any male in sight and flare at them, so that's why I don't recommend putting two males together. In the wild, they fight until the loser runs away, but in a tank, the loser can't run away so they will continue to fight to the death. I don't recommend putting a male Betta Fish with a female Betta Fish together unless you are putting them.

Materials you'll need for a Betta Fish to be happy:
At least 2 gallon tank
Heater
Betta Food
Water Conditionor
Betta Illness Treatment
Hiding Spot (Recommended)
Gravel (Recommended)
Live Plants (Recommended)
Net (Recommended)
Plastic Plants (Optional)
Algae Cleaners (Optional)

To clean a 1-2 gallon tank, it is recommended to change the water 25% or 50% every other day, so you need to change 100% of the water every week. Well, nobody said that taking care of a fish was easy.
To clean a 2.5 or more gallon tank, you should change 25% of the water a week. Or you could change 10% of the water twice a week.

Betta Fish are nice pets, but are aggressive with brightly colored fish or fishes with long fins. Here, you can find fishes that are compatible with Betta Fish. Remember, some Betta Fish are aggressive while others are nice. But be sure to get a 10 gallon tank or bigger as they need their space. Be cautious when putting a Betta Fish with other fish and be sure to properly introduced them.

Then she fed him and then I was like ''Did you feed fishie?'' and she said ''I don't know sis.'' so then I fed him over and over while she fed him too....
He died of being overfed...

If they're the same gender, it's probably agression
