So we're all getting hyped up about Nintendo's latest and greatest gaming capabilities and also their E3 announcements, but what about the earlier gaming years?

NES (Nintendo Entertainment System)

Though old and not really tasteful for modern gamers, the NES holds a special place in us gamers from the earlier years, for its classic 8-bit goodness and the first appearance of Mario and other franchises. Probably my favorite game on the NES is Super Mario Bros. 2

SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System)

http://i.imgur.com/yB53UsL.png
This system is hands down my favorite Nintendo console ever to be made; heck, it's my favorite gaming outlet out of anything, whether PC, Handheld, or home console. Nintendo took a leap from 8-bit to 16-bit, and the change was amazing. The gameplay, the music, and creativity took a skyrocket with the SNES.
The SNES also is the holder of my favorite game of all time:
Super Mario World 2 - Yoshi's Island.

N64 (Nintendo 64)

Following the trend of huge leaps, the Nintendo 64 (named so because of its 64-bit programming) was Nintendo's mighty step in fully explorable 3D worlds, and what an amazing console the N64 is. My favorite game on this console hands down is Super Mario 64.

Nintendo Gamecube

http://i.imgur.com/2o2OH5x.png
The Nintendo Gamecube really raised the bar for great graphics and creative games, putting out such games as Super Mario Sunshine, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, etc. while extremely, extremely improving on fully explorable 3D worlds. Games are great, Music is great. My favorite game for this console is probably a tie between Mario Kart: Double Dash! and Pikmin 2.

Of course, if you don't own these amazing consoles, there are things called emulators that allow you to play these consoles right on your computer, and you can even obtain USB versions of the controllers for the consoles.

I'm such a Nintendo Nerd that I have obtained an emulator for every Nintendo console made up to the Wii for my laptop. Though it just doesn't chalk up to playing the actual thing, I'm currently trying to obtain all these consoles.

Hey, has anybody else heard of Spongebob: Battle for Bikini Bottom?(Its for Gamecube)
Its one of the better spongebob games, and its fun to just roll around town... literally.

Haha, you should, the boss music is awesome. The final boss's music is probably one of the best ones I've heard, even though you can barely hear it because of all the fighting.

I remember when I first got it... Gamestop didn't have the cover, so I drew one a few years later. I would show the image but I have no idea how to upload pictures on my phone to Imgur...

I'm a big fan of old Nintendo videogames, specially of the 16-bit era.

I grew up playing games from both the NES and SNES. Years later I discovered emulation and I've been playing and trying classic games ever since.

I like how you praised the SNES more than any other. I agree on everything you said. I consider the SNES one of the best consoles ever made, not only the console itself but also it's games catalog, qualtiy-wise and quantity-wise.

Yoshi's Island is a great game indeed, my top3 games are RPGs though: Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger, Terranigma.

I had a N64 for a while till last year I had to sell it cause I was running out of money.
Ocarina of Time was my favourite game and still is.
I got tattoos of Link because that game impacted my life sooo much and to lose it was like losing a piece of my heart.
But I had to do what I had to do.
