***I didn't find any thread for this!***
So, children in need is in a few days(1d) and I'm very excited, I am actually doing a few things this uear and I know a few other people are.

What's children in need?
Children in Need started at 1980 and then carried on until now. It's pretty obviously a charity for children that are need, you do challenges/dares or anything else to raise money. I still remember when I was in Year 6, one of our teahcers had to run around with a tutu on, for about the whole field, another teacher shaved her hair off. The money is then sent to the Children in Need, to help save lives and get those in need safe.

I love the spirit and all and I've donated before. It's great to see people coming together and everything because of a charity--although I'd rather this happened for a lot of other charities, too, tbh. :x

Yeah, but I guess they know CiN is there, so there wont be no need, but CiN only happens once in a year. Others just go on forever.

Erm, no, it's just the the CiN /event/ is once a year. You can donate at any time you want to CiN. It's just like any other charity but with more publicity and marketing.

I don't see any other charity that has as much media coverage as CiN. Nor do I see any TV programmes celebrating it and having loads of other celebrities getting involved. Take UNICEF as an example. Things like this and this are things that I only see happening for CiN and no other charity. I just think it's a little unfair. :I

Well my school are doing a "Dress as your favourite character day" :b I'm gonna go as Luna Lovegood :D

Wow I feel so sad for those homeless children and what Lily said.. They shouldn't deserve a life like that.

Luckily my school has fundraisers and we sell food in cans to homeless people and families in need. Also children.

Full story: a lot of children are taken by child protective services if their parents homeschool. It's not so much they didn't go to school, but they didn't go to a brick and mortar school.

Also I have just received word a friend who will be on the BBC special:
