~Awesomenauts Game~

Behold the video game Awesomenauts, because I like repeating myself.

"What is Awesomenauts?" It is a Base defense type game where the objective is to plow through your enemy team's turrets and destory their base, while avoiding being killed by the other team trying to do the same to you. (of course this is an exception to private matches where you can customize the objective and play fun minigames)

"Why should I play this?" Because it is fun, addicting and also the most frustrating piece of crap ever and I wish I never started playing lmao.

There is a large list of fun and unique characters you can play as well, with their own special abilities and quirks (note that this isn't the full list, as new characters are introduced every few months).

You can also have Prestige medals, where you get to the max level up to unlock abilities, choose to prestige and start back at level 25ish, and upgrading a fancy medal by your name (note this is optional, and you don't need to do this to have a full experience of the game)

There are also leagues, showing your ranking and so on. (You don't see them ingame anymore however). League 1 is the top 250 players in the entire playerbase, think you have what it takes? (Sadly I'm only in the 1400s lol which is League 2 :c)

Anyway, I got it, haven't played with it since I bought it, so yeah. Nobody else has it and I don't play these sorta games alone. Was fun when it was free for a weekend.

Yeah I'm not expecting a huge playerbase due to the fact you need to buy the game and all. Plus if you want all the fun extra skins (minus the exclusive Leon and Coco skins released for backing the new expansion which is more expensive) you need to actually buy those. Actually 1 is already free, but the other 2 you get for purchasing another game and blarg.

Expenses.

Looks interesting. Might get it sometime.

It isn't a monthly thing like other online games, you just buy it once and thats it. The only other extra expenses are new skins and probably the expansion coming out in a few months (year*)

Yeah they'll probably due another sale due to the holidays approaching.

I have no idea how much they are charging since I backed it, so I already have the Beta access and such so I have no idea.

Leon, Coco and Frog all got special skins as a celebration for the new event. You had to pay 50-75$ for the exclusive skins plus getting a crap ton of other fun ingame content (plus the fact I have Beta access) and you got the bonus Frog skin.

Leon and Coco exclusive skins aren't obtainable anymore since the Kickstarter is closed but you can still buy the Froggy G skin.

They made it public for for a short while, but when the Beta for some of the new characters is finished it'll be Expansion only content.

I'd wait around Christmas, it'll be dirt cheap by then in all honesty. Plus the Costume packs will be on sale also.

Why would you want to let everyone use an (big?) expansion beforehand and then charge money for it afterwards. It's dumb. Also, you have to basically pay again to have the "full" game. These sort of DLCs/expansions are bullshit in my opinion.

It is a marketing tool to tempt people who didn't back it in the first place to consider and figure out if they want the Custom games and 3 (or 4, that isn't made clear yet) new characters.

I seriously doubt the expansion is going to be that much either given the usual pricerange of all of their products.

I know very well it's a "marketing tool". I prefer the money grab synonym. Anyway, they are still charging for it, price doesn't matter.

I'm not sure how LoL does their game content but I know DOTA 2, WoW and Starcraft does that stuff, and much more expensive. If you don't want it don't buy it? lol.
