My mom says friends come and go. I do and don't believe that, but lately my "best friend" has been hanging around somewhere else. And that just makes me lonely. I rather not join in; for my best friend has been acting rude to me sometimes, or we say nothing to each other.

if thats how your "best friend" acts, just leave her/him alone and make new friends because it means she/he doesnt like you anymore

but if you really dont want to lose her/him without making you look like a clingy piece of shit and/or stalker lesbian, then just leave her; if she/he really liked you he/she'd come back to you

Having friendships shouldn't become a chore. It's one thing to support your friends and be there for them, it's another to make all of their problems your problems. Troubles come and troubles go, let them sort things out.

comfort them and if they push you away comfort them anyway
remember that if they say they hate you, they just want you to leave them alone
dont leave them alone ever
youll just make them feel worse like you dont give a shit about them for giving up on them after one try

tl;dr dont leave them alone and make their problems your problems (theyll feel better when they have someone who can relate with); if they dont want to oppose the problem, just stay with them anyway, theyll feel better when they reflect on what to do and youre around to talk to
