What is Eddsworld, exactly?

The animation channel has three male stars: Tom, Edd, and Matt. There used to be a fourth person, Tord. He left in the beginning of the episode "25ft Under the Seat". Here is a video that briefly explains the three.

Each one are based on real life friends of Edd and are voiced by them as well.

Edd voiced himself. Since March 25th, 2012, (the date he passed away) his character is voiced by Tim Hautekiet.
Tord is currently voiced by Jamie Spicer-Lewis, though originally voiced by Tord Larsson himself.
Matt is voiced by Matt Hargreaves.
Tom is voiced by Thomas ‘TomSka’ Ridgewell.

The oldest (if not the first) video done by Edd Gould was done in 2004. It can be found in the "Lost Eddisodes" section of the official Youtube channel. Edd Gould proceeded to animate future eddisodes until Space Face (Part 1) was made. The first half of the eddisode was animated by Edd himself while the other half was animated by Paul ter Voorde. The last Eddisode is The End (Part 2).

Paul ter Voorde is now the main animator of the series, but several guest animators have made eddisodes as well. (Eddisodes "Saloonatics" through "Poweredd" have been animated by several different people.)
