South Africa's first black president just died an hour+ ago; I'm not sure of the details but it was related to an illness that got increasingly worse in hospital (prostate cancer I believe?).
Here's BBC's article on it:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-25249520

He did a lot of great things in south Africa imo, very sad news...

Thank god someone noticed.

Wow this is corny but hey: As a south african, I'm really greatful for what he did and I'm really sad. He probably died months ago, but they just wouldn't let him go. Everyone wishes he couldn't die... ahk man, it's really terrible. We're glad he went in peace and we owe his memory a lot.

Honestly I'm shocked. I kept hearing he was getting better... Obviously not.
And I'm very sorry for your loss, as a south African, it must be especially huge news.

Yeah. It's sort of like "everyone dies", but things are so shit in our country that we had him to hold on to as one good thing that's come out of it all. He was litterally one of the Vrede Men in our country that stood for something good. He led a whole turn over; a chunk in history. And now it's gone, and everything will continue to be ugly and we won't have that beautiful face of something special.

I swear when Desmond Tutu dies... ;_;

Thank you Haiii ♥

He seemed such an iconic person; it's a real shame he passed away.
I wish his family well as well as others who are effected by his death.

don't think like that holly! there are plenty of people who want to make change and stand up for the good things in the world, don't feel like things have died just because nelson mandela did
