online:
go somewhere lively where lots of people are talking and post there asking for __ people to quote the post without looking who else posted.

offline:
go somewhere outside, look at a fixed spot and laugh at it and stuff, get a friend to write everyones reactions.

I have done a couple experiments before on people (they're my precious lab rats)...

online:
Create a thread titled "Don't Click This" and observe their reactions.

offline:
With a few batch of cookies left, leave some cookies that appear to be eaten by ripping off a portion in a crescent line, like a bite mark. Observe the actions.

Speak of something extremely morbid and creepy, and observe their reactions.

Stare intently at a person, and observe reactions.

At the right time and atmosphere, attempt to falsely engage a person's alert system by commands such as "Watch out", "Don't move", or something else and observe the reaction.
