Anime Midwest is most likely an Anime convention (AKA Anime Con). Similar to Comic Con, but is based on Anime.

From the sounds of it, it will most likely have some souveniers and fun things to buy. Some people will cosplay and the sort. Just a fun convention/gathering for those who enjoy Anime/Manga and all that jazz.
