Gunpla (or Gundam Plastic Models) are model kits of various Mobile Suits from the Gundam series. There are various scales to these models (1/144, 1/100, and 1/60). There are also different levels of difficulty (High Grade, Real Grade, Master Grade, and Perfect Grade. Listed in from easiest to hardest).

Kits will come in boxes such as these:
High Grade(HG)
Real Grade(RG)
Master Grade(MG)
Perect Grade(PG)

If you are familiar with model kits you should know they come in these frames called runners.

Tools: Here!

*If you're under 13, you probably shouldn't use an X-acto Knife if you could hurt someone/something. Ask for assistance.

I'll now explain the difference between Grades.
[High Grade] The most basic model kit and best choice for a beginner. They usually come in 1/144 scale, and do not have an inner frame. These kits will usually take 4-8 hours depending on how fast you work. These models have the least amount of detail but are still good.
[Master Grade] A high level model kit and can be seen as the adavanced level. You should probably approach this if you've had experience before. These kits come in 1/100 scale and have an inner frame. These kits will also usually take 6-10 hours to complete depending on how quickly you work. These kits are better detailed than High Grades.
[Real Grade] A intermediate level kit, which could also be seen as a beginner kit. These kits come in a 1/144 scale and contain an inner frame. These kits are somewhat a cross between HGs and MGs. Usually will take 5-9 hours to complete depending on your work speed. These kits are as detailed as Master Grades, and can be seen as a shrunken version of MGs.
[Perfect Grade] The super advanced level kit. Do not attempt to build this if you are inexperienced. These models come in 1/60 scale and contain an inner frame. These models are similiar to Master Grades, but are the most detailed of all the Grades. These models will usually take 1-2 days to complete, if not more. Again this is the hardest and should not be tackled as your first.

Decals and stickers: Here!
Stickers are applied to make the model better, and look like the one on the box. Are included in all model kits.
Decals are only included in RGs, MGs, and PGs. Some may require you to use water to transfer it onto the model, and some may be dry transferred.

Panel Lining: Throughout building, you'll see various lines one pieces that you would want to make pop out more. You may use a Gunpla Marker to fill in these lines to make the model look realistic. If you mess up, you can get a cotton ball and dab some running alchohol to remove the extra ink.

Painting: If you don't want to apply stickers, you may paint the model yourself! The best option is to use an airbrush and hobby paint (I prefer tamiya brand). It is possible to hand paint it, but it will not turn out as good. Painting is also a good option because you can create custom color schemes if you do not like the original colors. After applying paint give it one day to dry.
Weathering: You may paint your model so that it looks like it returned from a battle. This is optional while painting but if done right, it looks great.

Finished result: Wing Gundam Fenice and Build Strike Full Package
Those are my own Gunplas I've finish not to long ago. It's amazing .3.

GUNDAM BUILD FIGHTERS: There is an anime based off Gunpla models, where you build and battle with them. Of course it's not possible to battle with them in real life, but it's fun see Gunpla builders battle each other. You can watch it here!

This hobby is fun and brings out your artistic ability.

The instructions are very detailed, so that shouldn't be a problem. Pieces are labeled by a letter and number (for example PC7). If you accidently clip out a piece when you don't need it yet, you can put it in a tray and then use it when the instructions tell you.

If you break a piece you can glue it back together and depending on how well of a job you do on that, it may still work properly.

Oh I guess that makes sense.
If you didn't have a side cutter, you could have used this(nail clipper)

Boxes should come with instructions. If they don't you should probably complain/return it.

If you want to start again, you should watch Gundam Build Fighters. The anime is basically based off the models but in the show they fight with them. All the mobile suits in the shows are customs of already existing ones from other shows.
