Searching through the forums, I couldn't find any topics already posted about this, which I'm slightly surprised about.
Daemons were first shown in The Golden Compass and the His Dark Materials series by Phillip Pullman. Don't know what they are? Info site.

I tried to get one a while ago but then life came in and i was too busy with other school stuff

That's great, you two! Having Muri has somewhat helped me, considering I'm terrible at making friends in real life, and though in a sense they're like imaginary friends, I don't think it's very childish at all. I started in late october last year and in the end I stopped projecting him, but I tried again and now it's much easier to do so, strangely enough. c:

it helps me out on decisions and its quite useful when im lonely
