Goddammit, it's about time the caped crusader got his own thread. Let's do this.

Batman's (a.k.a. Bruce Wayne) a DC comic hero who's been around since 1939, debuting in Detective Comics #27.
Since then, he's lasted through the golden and silver age of comics and even after the dreaded publication of Seduction of the Innocent which lead to the formation of the CCA; this put limits on the content comics could have from 1954 - 1971 (after which the laws were revised and became more slack).

And the number's still growing. Though the original series ended in 2011, DC's new 52 relaunch has brought Batman back with new comics coming out monthly. As well as this, recently, a new animated movie was released (Assault on Arkham) and another live action movie (Batman v Superman) is in progress (out April 29 2016 in the UK, May 6 2016 in the US), along with a live action series: Gotham (premieres September 22, 2014).
