Shrove Tuesday (known in some countries as Pancake Day) is a day in February or March, preceding Ash Wednesday (the first day of Lent), which is celebrated in some countries by consuming pancakes. It's a High Church Christian (Anglican, Lutheran, Methodist and Roman Catholic) festival celebrated in Europe (especially the UK) and some Commonwealth countries. It used to be celebrated because Lent is a time of fasting, so on the last day before Lent, we stuff ourselves with sweet food like pancakes. Now, it's just because pancakes are delicious :3

So am I the only person here who celebrates this day? I don't think it's practiced a lot in America, which is where most people on this forum live.
Keep in mind, pancakes here in the UK are quite different from what they are in the US. Here, they resemble Crêpes.

I love pancake day, we have them made from scratch not with just plain old pancake mix or store bought ones so they taste great

You don't have to be religious, it's not that Christian really. I mean what do pancakes have to do with religion? Just has semi-Christian origins because it's connected to Lent. Anyway, do you like crepes? They're more like the pancakes we have. I don't really like American/Scottish pancakes either.

I like my pancakes with just powdered sugar :3

Well, I know it isn't, but I still don't celebrate it.

I'm English so I eat the same pancakes you eat, I've never had American ones. I also have never had crepes, so I wouldn't know what they taste like.
