any fans of music that's more than just the obvious nightcore, brostep, shitty post-hardcore, boring uninspired EDM and in general dull 'n mediocre music?

i've been listening to a lot of dub recently, especially King Tubby. and then i've been listening to some krautrock, like Can. i've been loving my post-punk too. especially when it's infused with dub, like Killing Joke and The Slits...

naturally, i loved this a lot. 11pm and i'm sippin' from a bottle of air...dry throat times. need to get a drinka squash.

and if you're gonna call me a hipster from enjoying music that you don't, then keep it to yourself.

well.

in definition of the typical music taste that the demographic of transformice has, music like krautrock, dub or post-punk is out of that spectrum.

"more than just the obvious nightcore, brostep, shitty post-hardcore, boring uninspired EDM and in general dull 'n mediocre music".

I really like the twilight zone theme. is that out there enough?

a: how much did I age myself just then and
b: I have bizarre taste in music. I like anywhere from a softer range of "folk" music BUT not like actual folk music but "alternative" rock, post-rock, indie etc. I like primal scream (the link in the op), its similar to all the music I listened to from 2004-2012-- not as much as my current taste. You might really like Explosions in the Sky. It's not quite as psychedelic, but it falls into the post-rock genre even though it isn't technically part of it. I also really like Daughter (not non-traditional), Data Romance, Turboweekend, NIN, and Russian Circles.

im a massive fan of post-rock, specifically the first wave tho (i.e. Tortoise, Bark Psychosis, Talk Talk). also that doesnt mean i dont love Godspeed You! Black Emperor. they're amazing. that new album holy shit

Dubstep isn't really "out there," most people listen to it in some form nowadays.

Vocaloid is some of the most mainstream Japanese music out there. If you want to be all "out there" about Japanese music, check into something like Noanowa or even some lesser-known idol groups like Sakura Gakuin (the root group of a much more known group called BABYMETAL) or UP UP GIRLS.

Well, I find Grizzly Bear, The Neighbourhood and Mr. Children (and Crystal Castles) pretty far away from the medicore music so they could maybe be called out-there music too.
