UNDER CONSTRUCTION, WILL ADD MORE INFO LATER

Hello everyone, have you heard about this wonderfull game?
No? What a shame!

999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, is a graphic adventure game/visual novel DS game, made by Chunsoft for Nintendo DS.

STORY:

The story follows Junpei who is abducted and placed aboard an empty, sinking cruise liner along with eight other individuals. They are forced to participate in the "Nonary Game", which involves exploring the ship and solving escape-the-room puzzles. The game follows a branching plot line that concludes in one of six different endings based on the decisions made by the player character.

GAMEPLAY:

http://i.imgur.com/lbRfxkm.gif

You play as Jumpei, a 21 year old college student. The game is viewed mostly from a first-person perspective,
and takes place aboard a sinking cruise liner. Junpei and the other non-player characters in the story, work together to escape by going through a series of escape the room puzzles located in various rooms of the ship. The game features two different types of gameplay: the ''Escape'' sequences, in which the player must solve a puzzle, to escape the room; and the ''Novel'' part, in which the player reads the games story in cutscenes. Escape sequences involve investigating the room, and or finding items or tools. Which you then use to manipulate other objects in the room or discover combinations to open locked doors. Sometimes in cutscenes, the player is given options to choose from. Depending on what choice you make, the story will progress in a specific direction, with different endings. You have 6 endings, and only 1 good ending. The bad endings include atleast 1 person being murdered. The good ending is only available if you played a specific bad ending before.

CHARACTERS

There are 9 characters introduced at the beginning of the game. Everyone has their own bracelet with a number on it, 1 to 9.
They use code names to communicate with eachother.
1 Ace - Age 50. An older gentleman who looks like a lion.
2 Snake - Age 24. A blind young man dressed like a prince; he is Clover's brother and will do anything for her.
3 Santa - Age 24. An aloof and sometimes foul-mouthed white-haired young man.
4 Clover - Age 18. A young girl with pink hair, she is Snake's sister.
5 Junpei - A 21-year-old college student and the game's protagonist.
6 June - Age 21. A young woman, she is Junpei's childhood friend.
7 Seven - Age 45. A heavy-set man who, unlike the others, has no memory of the events that led him to the ship.
8 Lotus - Age 40. A woman dressed as an exotic dancer.
9 The 9th Man - A nervous man with a tie and messy hair; he does not offer a pseudonym.

NONARY GAME

The characters are forced to play the Nonary game. The Nonary Game is a game that as Zero, the one who had started the game, described as a game where 9 people will have to put their lives on the line. The main goal is to escape the place they are held in captivity and seek a door that carries a [9] within 9 hours, if they fail the ship will completely sink, to get to the 9th door, they must go through other numbered doors. There are electronic devices called REDs and DEADs near each marked door that assure that only three to five people whose bracelet numbers' total digital root equals the number on the door can pass through each door; otherwise, a small bomb planted in each person's stomach will be detonated, killing them.

If you like puzzle games, where you have to use your brain, and make the right deccisions, this is the best game for you. The plot is amazing, leaving no hole unfilled. It's also exciting, and the plottwists.. the plottwists man, you can't ever see them coming. The game has extremely good reviews, scoring extremely high. The staff said that they are working on a third game, making it the last game in the Zero Escape series.

Virtue's Last Reward is a direct sequel to 999, created by the same staff, and features 3D models and fully voiced novel segments!
The game is similar to 999, with Novel and Escape parts. Now, you can pick a difficulty setting, when you find a puzzle too hard, you can switch difficulty, where characters may offer more specific hints. This game also has 22 endings, instead of 6, with only 1 true ending. The story is mostly the same, 9 people are abducted and placed in an empty facility. They are forced to participate in the "Nonary Game: Ambidex Edition", a life-or-death game which involves death bracelets filled with lethal poison, allying and betraying players, exploring the facility and solving escape-the-room puzzles in order to survive and escape. There is really, alot of info that might spoil the story, so i'm not gonna put it here.

NONARY GAME: AMBIDEX EDITION

Each of the nine participants in the AB Game is given a bracelet that keeps track of their “Bracelet Points,” or “BP.” During the AB Game, your team must play against an opposing team. Depending on your choice, your BP will either increase or decrease. If your BP drops below 0, however, you will be penalized with death. A: ally B: betray

CHARACTERS

Sigma Klim- (the one you play as) An ordinary college student who has been abducted and thrown into the Nonary Game. Sigma is a generally bright, honest young man, although he can be a little inappropriate at times. He’s easily swayed by his emotions, which makes him a poor choice for a game about trust and betrayal.
Phi- Her cold intelligence comes across in her curt speech and no-nonsense attitude.
Alice- A focused and powerful woman. The reason behind her dislike for shirts is unknown.
Luna- A kind and quietly intelligent young woman. She speaks softly, and always advocates for the most peaceful, optimistic solution.
Dio- A mysterious man with a singular sense of style. His comments are often insensitive or downright mean, although whether this comes from intentional malice or simple ignorance is unclear.
Quark- A sweet and cheerful boy. His childlike curiosity and boundless energy hide an exceptionally clever and analytical mind.
Tenmyouji- A stubborn, grumpy old man. He seems to have no patience and less trust for anyone in the group.
Clover- A slightly unpredictable young woman. Apparently, this isn't her first rodeo
K- A mysterious man in a suit of what appears to be armor. His face is hidden by a mask, and no one knows his name or his age - not even him
Zero III- An artificial intelligence that has been tasked with making sure the Nonary Game runs smoothly.

You can't play this game if you haven't played 999 before. There are gonna be references that you won't understand a crap about. You will see 999 characters coming back, and that stuff.
The staff said that they are working on a third game, making it the last game in the Zero Escape series.

Okay fuck the other people, I really love this goddamn game. The atmosphere was perfect and the soundtrack is so amazing for the DS because I never heard the DS pull off music like this. Even though Snake is the absolute best character, my favorite is still June. The axe ending can go suck on a million dicks but whatever you do, you better say nice things about the Funyarinpa.

This game is not for everyone, but the people who get it get an amazing goddamn experience. Meanwhile everyone else will go nuts over the digital roots. There hasn't been a game that does this sort of thing and do it so well since then. I really hope that the series doesn't end on the note the sequel ended in. #operationbluebird

Yeah, it can be pretty hard. Sometimes you just need a little hint from a walkthrough.

I just downloaded the sequel, and can't waaaait to play it. (Also working on putting the sequel and more info in the OP)

Snake is my all-time favorite.. just he is amazing

The game still saves your choices as you replay the game so that's helpful, but don't be afraid of asking how to finish up puzzles or choose certain things, the pressure of this game can be maddening.

I liked the way the DS was used in the final puzzle. When they brought back "that" specific track in VLR I just went, "This gonna be a good game."
