TL;DR: Would you donate to Atelier 801 / Transformice for some out-of-game rewards? With small perks for low end, and some neat stuff for high end investors?

For those who don't know, Patreon and other such service allow you to donate to creators by month / update, often with some bonus "content" given to higher donators, such as behind-the-scenes peaks, signed goods, etc (and maybe even extra goodies if a certain milestone/goal is reached).

I got thinking a few weeks ago it might be cool to see Transformice/Atelier 801 on Patreon (or something similar) for those interested in supporting the company. While people can support Atelier 801 with fraises, they don't work in their other games, are avoided by people who hate micropayments, and don't really mean much for people who don't plan on buying everything in the store. So this would allow a different way to support the company, while also (potentially) offering a different type of reward (concept art, update notices a day early, username listed on a "supporters" page, signed swag, or something silly (like I know one patreon creator that will write people a custom haiku =p). And for milestone goals (overall amount per month / update given) it might have a small-ish in-game thing, such as an extra new items every other month or something.

It probably won't gain them enough to double their staff or anything, but if enough people donated it might allow them to explore their options a bit more, or put a bit more money aside.

Anyways, I thought it would be interesting to hear thoughts on what type of pledge rewards people might like to see (these would be small out-of-game rewards), milestone goal rewards (could be small in-game rewards), alternatives to Patreon that might be a better fit for Atelier 801, wether a patreon for Transformice or the company would make more sense (as far as goals and rewards), or anything else people thing of the idea.

This would obviously be optional, so please keep comments about not donating to a minimum, unless it's part of a constructive post.

Sounds like a great idea to me. I'm sure there are people who would donate a lot of money for one of those adorable mouse plushies, and that could be a much higher prize too in order to get around the high costs of shipping those internationally. I could see a lot of people paying for even just a digital sketch of their mouse from Meli, too.

A sketch from Meli would have to be decently high tier though (maybe even the highest) to avoid it getting too crazy.

Hey Jackalpaw, long time no see =p Any specific "small" out-of-game rewards you think might be cool?

Back then I really wanted to buy the shaman plushie but I couldn't find one on the Internet. Well, for sure that would be quite expensive.

There was a time that I would have considered it. past few years have made me change my opinion of their company and I have even stopped buying fraises because of it
