The story: Back in 2013 you could see them everywhere where i lived. But as 2014 summer came you didn't see none so far. Months pasted and i only go to see two monarchs that year. And this year as in 2015 monarchs are not seen here yet. So what is up? #Story 2 Monarch caterpillars start there cocoon by milkweeds. But milkweeds started being taken down to be replaced by Houses, Barns and buildings. There food and mostly there home is taken down and they dont anything else to do. Instead alots of them starve to death while some are still alive finding some milkweeds. And this beautiful will always be loved, by me. Discuss about these pretty butterfly's as in 2015! We have tons of milkweeds at my house. There haven't been a lot of the normal bugs at all this year. Normally we have tons of dragonflies and fireflies and grasshopppers. I haven't seen to many this year. :( Dernière modification le 1436151240000 |

Countless dragonflies at my house, a normal amount of monarch butterflies, I see no problem. By the way, I don't mean to be rude, but just 'cause you don't see any monarch butterflies at your house doesn't mean they're all going extinct.. Also, how do you know how much milkweed is gone? How do you know everyone is building homes over the milkweed? Conclusion: The monarch butterflies are fine-- no harm done. There is plenty of milkweed. See monarchs dying? Well, I've actually watched an entire episode about monarch butterflies on an animal show. Long story short, monarch caterpillars hatch on a milkweed, eat the plant, become a butterfly, take off across the land (and sea) to Mexico (I think it was Mexico) from somewhere in North America, to lay eggs. Once they reach their destination, they rest in the trees (Amazing sight, trust me!), later lay their eggs, then (I know, I know, sad..) they die. Then, their eggs hatch and story all over again!
