Is it wrong to enjoy watching others in misery? As in, ranging from anything to anything. to watch another suffer, wether it benefits you or not? I'm not sure if this a matter of societies etiquette, or rather a moral struggle.

Are you talking about emotional pain, mental pain, or physical pain?

I used to enjoy people's suffering emotionally and mentally when I was younger, now I can't bear to see any kind of suffering. I think it's natural to feel entertainment through other's pain, but it's not exactly morally right.

I'd personally say no because I'd only classify something as (possibly) morally wrong if you are doing it intentionally to cause harm.

People can't help the way they are. Sadists can't help that they're sadists. And I think many people, to an extent, enjoy others' pain - even if only mildly. For example, videos of people hurting themselves in funny ways are pretty popular (remember there was a channel that used to dish them out, failblog or something).

S'long as they don't cause anyone harm though this, then I don't think it's morally wrong.

Oh yeah, if they didn't intentionally cause harm and you're just enjoying pain that happened already I think that's alright. If you're the one who's inflicting the harm to cause (unwanted) pain, then there's some large issue there.

to be honest the way i enjoy someone's pain is depending on who they are
i mean i wouldnt look at a homeless woman and laugh at her, that would be morally wrong whatsoever, even enjoying someone's misery itself
but i only like the pain brung upon my rivals or enemies, no one who could possibly be just a friend or a stranger. i dont think i would enjoy it by mentally/physically harming them though
all i have to say

Not really

though there are some people I would hurt really bad and never regret my decision to do so.

it depends on the situation for me tbh

like if its someone i cannot stand at all, i probably will because i'm rude like that

but if its my friend/someone i deeply care for, then no.

its like asking if you would kill a dog

in some cases, yes, and in others, no.

As long as it's both funny and deserved.
That is the only Schadenfreude I can enjoy, otherwise I'm either indifferent or in disgust.

i'd only enjoy the pain of a first grader (or a rival ofc), nonetheless, it really concerns me if anybody else is in pain

depends on what kind of pain, if someone falls (and they have to laugh about it too) I find it funny too. But if it's pain like sad because a loved one has died or something, I just feel bad for that person but I don't really know what to say.

Well, it's never funny to see someone get hurt.

...Unless it's a fat guy.

Then it's kinda funny.

If you're a sociopath, it might seem like a natural thing to do.

... I heard a theory that the younger you are, the more likely you are to find other peoples misery funny. Like videos of people hurting themselves, laughing when people trip and fall and stuff like that. But the older you get, the more likely you won't find those things as funny, but rather laugh with others, rather than at them.
I think it tells a lot about a person if they laugh/enjoy other peoples misery. Not necessarily "wrong", unless you do what you can to make it happen or make it worse, but I guess kids are more likely to laugh at people hurting because it give them some kind of feeling of being superior to the person suffering. It tells you that you are stronger than them. And thats important when you're a kid and most likely insecure or just want to get on top in the social hierarchy. When you get older you often get less selfish and understands why its important to care care of one another, how social bonds will make you all strong. You gain that by laughing with people. If you were a grown person enjoying other peoples misery, you'd most likely either do an effort to cause the misery just to entertain yourself, or you would somehow seek it out, making other people take distance to you.
