Hello.
Today you introduce the idea of editing a survey.
As you know, polls CAN NOT edit.
My idea is to add the ability to edit the survey!
What do you think?
You can express your opinion in the post.

I assume Sentinels are able to edit polls given what they said in this thread, and considering normal users are able to edit polls if they have forum powers in their own tribe subforum, sentinels would also be able to in the public subforums.

I wonder if contacting a sentinel to change the poll will be what has to happen, because editing titles has been suggested before in the past, but was implemented for sentinels only. The editing titles suggestion doesn't show up on any of the suggestion lists any longer also. or at least as far as I looked. Reporting threads to change the topic title has been the thing for ages, so it may be unlikely that this were to happen. I wouldn't exactly be against this suggestion though. Though I also wouldn't mind reporting polls, or even dealing with poll reports if I was ever a sentinel again.

Part of me worries this could probably be abused, as even if you remove an option or add an option, no one would be able to revote if they already had voted. While I'm not sure how something can be abused that way, it's still a factor. Also, you can no longer see the results of any option you deleted if you check the History log, though you can't see any results on the History log anyway.

i think im neutral on this, but idk.

Personally I think there are lots of issues with polls as Dracoleaf mentioned above, such as votes being offset when an option is added/removed, not being able to revote, etc. If these were changed I think that forum polls would be a lot more versatile all over.

I do think that polls should be editable by users though, it's just additional content to the opening post really, and there's a lot of situations where editing it can be useful.

I would love the normal text part of a poll to be editable for sure (and also for the first post to not show a new poll with a post count of 0).

As far as add/removing options, I'm for that so long as the poll is reset (and there's obvious prevention measures in place to make sure). It's really the only fair way, even if people can revote, since any changes makes it a "new" poll in that current results may become misleading. The old poll results could be stored by the forum somehow so people could still view the old results before the reset.

nuetral, because on a suggestion poll you might be able to switch support and no support, thus getting more supporters

but sometimes we make stupid spelling mistakes or on a tablet or phone (sometimes) we have auto correct, and those mistakes can be really embarrassing! and of course we cant double post to say "oops! I meant to say phone" or something. So for me /half support
