About:

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer downplays the wider community simulation mechanics of the main Animal Crossing series in favor of focusing on house designing; players work as an employee of Nook's Homes, designing homes for other animal villagers based around their suggestions.[3][4] As players progress, they will unlock additional furniture elements they can incorporate into their designs.[3] Players can also visit the homes they have created.[3]

The game integrates with Amiibo cards; players can unlock the ability to design houses for other major characters such as K.K. Slider and Tom Nook, and can also invite their respective character to visit a home that a player has designed.[3][5]

So? Do you guys play it?

I have the game and a few Amiibo cards + the reader/writer and I don't play it. Heh, waste of money I know. What do you guys think of Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer? I find it hard to play without a stylus.

Is it better than New Leaf/how does it compare to New Leaf? I know all the Animal Crossing games are kinda unique in their own, but I really want to buy it but don't know if I want to dish out all that money.

Everyone has their own opinions, so I'll just state mine. I don't think it's better than New Leaf because you don't have a "goal" anymore in HHD. All you do is build houses. In New leaf, your free to explore.
It compares to New Leaf by the characters in HHD, and the way the game was made (the designs). That's all I can think of right now.

The experience is different. One difference is that Happy Home Designer isn't really like free-world/there's not a lot of walking around/talking to people like there is in new leaf. You don't use any tools, you don't do favors for villagers, you're no longer the mayor, etc. Your only job is to design the interior and exterior of buildings.

But, in HHD you can play a long time without running out of things to do or stopping because the days aren't based on actual time -> for example in New Leaf I found myself waiting for the next day in real time a lot because I was waiting for fruit to grow, waiting for mail to get delivered, waiting for events, etc. But, in HHD when you save a new day starts and you can keep playing like that
