Currently, 250 people are thought to have been killed. I'm surprised by how little coverage this has received. Tragic event. I said a prayer for this proud country this morning.

Apparently it was a trending tweet recently, #prayforecuador i think

It started around Manabi, so it was pretty close to where my grandmother lives. Thank god no one got hurt, but everything inside her house fell and broke, and they currently have no electricity or water.
On the other hand, my uncle was staying at a hotel or some other house and it completely fell down. He managed to walk out of the rubble safely
tadaa this is the place where he was staying at. No joke actually

As for myself and my parents and sister, we got it really soft compared to over there tbh. In my parent's bedroom only a couple decorative glass objects broke, and in my bedroom nothing fell. I didnt take it seriously at first, since it was a small tremble, then I heard shit break in the other room and the lights went out. It was scary tbh, even though we recieved the soft end of it.

I might be able to pass images of the mall near me in a bit. The shelves at the market all fell down and the movie theater's name had broken down too

Praying for everyone there, including my relatives and family friends, and those who are currently injured.

I would offer to pass photos and videos, but I feel as if the ones we have been getting sent personally to my family are a little too gruesome.

A lot of people didn't take it seriously until large objects started to shift and buildings were heard crackling.

What's worse is that since this happened the majority of the evening, people weren't able to see much of the damage until the morning.

I'm personally scared since Ecuador lacks an efficient grasp of what to do in these sorts of emergencies, despite minor earthquakes happening every so often there.

There are other countries willing to go over to help, so lets support everyone who is traveling there to help those injured, or pull those out of cars and rubble, and let's pray for those who are losing their families as we speak.
