Nekodancer! - Track Editor

Just recently, some news came out that youtube's current nature of coding will be deprecated on January 27th 2016. Thus, YouTube will disappear from transformice and nekodancer (unless html5 coding is somehow integrated into transformice). Unless a track editor is made, Nekodancer will be shut down on January 27th 2016.
A track editor that does not depend on YouTube may be necessary to keep the game alive. Rooms may need to be segregated by difficulty, e.g. /room Easy1, /room Medium1, /room Hard1, /room Extreme1. Not all cats want to play hard songs. Further organization will be necessary to prevent duplicates or redundant works.

Most of the original sections from this thread have been revoked.

Note that the above logo is not the official art for the track editor, but was put together by me. If official art does emerge, I will replace the above logo with the official art.

INTRODUCTION AND NEWS
As some of us are aware, in Dance Dance Revolution and Stepmania, we had a track editor where we could customise the stepfiles for each individual songs, and make it as easy or difficult as we wanted to.

Tigrounette introduced the possibility of such a track editor in nekodancer where we would be able to customise the sequence of steps in our songs, however we still do not know the nature of the track editor yet, or how the steps will be relayed into public play. This track editor will possibly come out very soon.

REASON FOR THIS THREAD!! DON'T REPOST ASKING WHY I DID THIS!
I've decided to create this thread in advance, so that we can place reserves on the songs that we want to edit. We do not want to end up with duplicates of songs, with one track favoured over the other, as it would introduce the possibility of one player's work becoming redundant. I am taking responsibility over the list of players who have placed reserves on which songs.

I would very much appreciate all the help I can get. Please help me to expand this post and keep the game in order! =]

If the track editor does not end up releasing, the sentinels can feel free to close this thread.

PS: I'm sorry if this thread seems strict, but we have to keep it organised and clean.

@Vinxa that rule basically means that it should not be humanly impossible to complete. If you can't complete it yourself, then it's likely that nobody else can.
Also, I have no idea how to deal with clone tracks right now. You cant place dibs on a song that's already been claimed by someone else, unless it's already been completed.

In my opinion, if you can't 100% a song that you made yourself WITHOUT powerups, how do you expect other people to do it? I think that you being able to 100% your own song is reasonable, because most people can't do that on an offbeat song, anyways.
TL;DR: 100%'s ensure your track flows and is possible.

I interpreted that as you have to be able to get 100% which isn't reasonable @callmeblue because most people make a few mistakes and a person could have a great musical ability (meaning great tracks) but only get 90%s when playing them.

I don't like the idea of "claiming", or putting dibs on a video/song. You're saying as if the first person who claims it will remain to be the track creator for it, when there could be much better tracks for it. I mean, they might just go with a sort of map crew who pick the best version out of submissions for one specific video/song. And it could change over time.

That's exactly why you don't have to follow this thread if you don't want to. If you want to bypass the dibs, complete the song and then let me know and I'll still add it anyway. The whole point of placing dibs on the songs is to prevent duplicates which would lead to one track being favored over the other, making one player's work completely useless.
Not only that, but when the track editor is released, we will all agree on a deadline for the tracks, so the track isn't taken forever. In addition, when the track is complete, another player can ask to work on the same song.
By the way, if you still don't really like this idea, maybe you can suggest a system that would work better?

@Fierying I need a valid reason why you would choose 3 songs, otherwise your post is ignored. My advice would be to pick the 2 most well known songs first, so that others will not place dibs on them before you.
@Vinxa I disapprove of your second choice, because it contains deafening parts and also a part that may induce epileptic fits in some people (it in fact, hurt my eyes, even though I'm not at risk of a fit). Plus, I think it would be very hard to make a track out of because of its unsteady beat.
@Kittencutez Still awaiting your YouTube URL. If it isn't provided, I will remove your reservation in one week.
@Triggeralpha Your video did not contain an epileptic fit segment, so don't worry. But I took into account your change.

I'm pretty sure the easier method for the track editor would be not to actually claim songs as its a little bit unfair, songs will run out eventually or people will use a different link. I'm hoping to see from the track editor some sort of system where there are a list of songs (like the map database) that have been created and you get a url/number from it and you submit it, kinda like the system that Osu! has. Ones that are good are rated up etc.

Either way, just incase I'll submit a song I'm interested in creating a beatmap for;
