I am going to sound really bitchy here but seeing how people are giving critiques right now, its really bothering me. In fact I am going to give a critic to people giving critiques. Critique comes from the word Critical, which means a major change, or impactful. In terms of art, giving a critic is to improve a feature of the subject, mostly on the 3 basic art fundamentals of Anatomy, perspective, colors, etc. The problem now is that since MOST of you are hobbyist or new to art and draws to make yourself happy, you guys do not even know these fundamentals. You draw because you just want to and it makes you happy, which is OK if you are the one drawing but for a person to give critiques, it ISN'T OK. Art is subjective and technically you cannot give a critique, but we still have it is because critiques given now is base on the world we live in. Thats why when you give criticism, you cannot rely on YOUR STYLE OR PREFERENCE ON DRAWING, but relating things to the real world. Base on the recent critic above me, as much as I know you have the heart to help someone, I want to say this: It did not even help at all I am sorry to say this but it doesn't solve anything! All of what is written down is just "your style". The anatomy is still wrong, the wings aren't even wings, the canine snout is still wrong. Don't get me started on more advance stuff like action lines, gesture, composition and all those things. And as much I would love to give a critique on your works, you guys have small or no knowledge about the basic art fundamentals and I cannot help you because its "your style" You don't have to do what I am saying, i have no rights to forcefully change you but i just want some of you to know that end of the day, you are not helping. I am sorry. |

techtriostep a dit : Myself and many others need to work on critiquing a lot. Honestly though I think if these artists want legit, full on professional critiquers looking at their work they should look elsewhere than a mouse forum. Dernière modification le 1448509140000 |

opicalneon a dit : Alright, not the best with critiques, but I'll give it my best shot.. -- 1. Mice's head have a triangular form. Although I am aware that often in the forums people draw them with large foreheads (including myself), the anatomically correct way to draw it is nearly completely flat, like in this image: <They do have a small dip for the forehead, but it's small 2. Eyes arent positioned that far back on the head, theyre normally a little more to the front on a mouse. If you look at images of mice, it seems like the eye is more or less on the midway point between the ears and the nose. 3. If an animal is curled up, it's normally more smushed together. Its head is either laying overtop the paws/tail or tucked close to their hind paws: The position is slightly different for a mouse though, considering their paws are smaller. Mice have their heads tucked over their stomach and their front paws curled inwards. From what I've seen, mice usually curl up with their backs on the ground rather than on their flanks, which means their hind legs are in the air; Your mouse's legs are stretched out in a way that would make it appear limp if it was lying down and it's sorta positioned in a way that, as you said, makes it look like it's falling I'm also going to quote Fierying here, because the critique they gave me could also help you: Fierying a dit : Dernière modification le 1448603040000 |

Bringing this thread back to life.... Ok, so I JUST got a tablet (I'm sure everyone knows) so don't be too harsh. But I have this. I'm still getting used to the pressure sensitivity and stuff, but maybe some tips to help me out with future artwork? |

Broncosfan a dit : clears throat ahem mmm yes i apologize for this but: ALSO, i flipped the image because it is essential to constantly check how your drawing looks when flipped horizontally. you will see problems that you may not have seen without doing so. (many times i use it to test leg lengths and whether or not my characters are dramatically leaning towards one side. its actually stunning how much you dont see when you dont flip it) |

shardpixel a dit : Thanks for the tips! I kinda rushed this just to play around with the tablet a bit. I've noticed that the more I work with it, the less sloppy the lines look. I believe my stabilizer is still on, so it does help a bit :P I will actually save this, so I have it to work with on upcoming artwork! :) |
