Muters: Perfect solution for the IP Filter problem. |

Recently, Tigrounette and the other admins put into the game an IP adress filter, not allowing players from four areas to talk in public rooms. Many disagree with this installment and I have found a way to make everybody happy. It is unfair to people living in those four countries to not be able to talk in public rooms, for they speak english perfectly fine and are being punished for a few spammers. The solution is to let everybody talk, and then mute the spammers, but how do we do this? The answer is simple: Implement 'Muters'. What is a Muter? A muter is somebody who has the power to mute players. This player is like a moderator, but can only mute. If we make muters, then everybody can talk, we can mute spammers, and there will be less spammers because they will know that muters are around. How many muters should there be? There should be a good amount of muters in relation to the number of rooms in the English server. I would say about 10-20 muters should scare off the spammers. How do we pick who our muters should be? I am trying to help the problem of the IP filter, thanks for listening to my recommendation. I hope that you will listen to it, and install muters into the game, as I and lots of my friends think that this is a solid solution to the problem at hand. Thank You, Jjpatsfan~ |

Well, that is a better solution than IP discrimination. That's a great idea Jjpats. Perhaps we can choose "MUTE MODERATORS" (voting, of course). |

This is a great idea!! Mods will be able to focus on just banning hackers and muters will just mute people who are spamming. I support |

Maxxzinnn a dit : Well the reason the IP filter was implemented was because things weren't doing well. So I guess that system wasn't working out very well, was it? :p |

Then the mods are not working very well (with mutes) And no, a new team to mute wont help |

Maxxzinnn a dit : Why wouldn't more helpers help? What is your genious solution? If we make a team of muters, that their only job is to mute people, I think it'd work out just fine. Mods are very busy, keeping up with hackers/spammers/etc. A new team designated for spammers would work just fine. Lets say there are 75 active rooms on the EN server at any given time. If we have a team of 10-20 muters, like I suggested, There would be a 1 muter for every 5 rooms. There is not a spammer in every room, so each muter would easily be able to mange 5 rooms. Hence, my new system would work fine. |

Maxxzinnn a dit : More moderators is a better solution that IP filtering. At some point, /report is useless because we got not enough MODs. I may sugest to give jjpatsfan's solution a try. |

Why would report or ban be as good as a mod muting? I doubt report would do any good, since mods are always busy and there aren't enough of them on EN. And you need a certain amount of people to ban a spammer. If there was a "muter" about, you could just tell the "muter" someone is spamming and then it's fixed, quickly and efficiently. You may as well just say get more mods on EN. But it's a good idea to seperate jobs so that mods have less pressure to do everything. If spam is such an issue then getting some people to focus on it and mute the spam is perfect. Better than blocking off innocent people. Probably the best solution I've heard so far and not just because you're my friend. |

Oh yeah, I forgot the best solution, /ignore |

Yeah max, we got ignore button but admins still need to mute countries idk why. This is totally bullshit. |

Maxxzinnn a dit : Fortunately, Ohyeah is not here. Anyway, /ignore is the solution? then why IP FILTERING was implemented? |

I was talking about the stupid filters, EN1 "was" international till a few days ago, we could speak any language there, now we have filters... even if they said "If you see a player speaking a different language, you can just type /ignore Username" Maxxzinnn a dit : ^ |
