This isn't really needed, friend lists are generally short and in alphabetical order anyway, if you can't remember someone's name and look through a short list then I don't know what's wrong, but this seems like an extremely simple to do thing from a technical standpoint, and I do see it coming in useful occasionally. /support because why not.
