Currently, the game engine will kill a shaman within 30 seconds unless they move or spawn an object (arrows don't count). This functionality usually works for the standard transformice rooms (regular/vanilla/survivor), because shamans will move or place something.

However, in some minigame rooms, where the shaman can play the game by just putting arrows on the screen (#shatrix, #towerdefense, #pictionary), this can lead to the embarrasing afk death, where the shaman inexplicably dies, because they forget that they have to press a movement key. This can lead to a bit of rage, as the shaman suddenly loses their turn to be awesome.

There are two good fixes that would resolve this issue, and a third fix that would kind of resolve it. Arranged in the order of least to most work for the module maker:

1. Have the game engine automatically mark a shaman as not afk whenever they chat in game (to the room, private and tribe chats do not count), or attempt to cast any shaman item (this includes arrows). A player who is doing this is obviously not afk.

2. Add scripting functionality to mark the shaman as not afk. This would allow module makers to designate particular actions, such as casting an arrow or using a ! command, evidence that the shaman is not afk.

3. Add in module functionality for shamans to respawn with their powers intact. Currently, if the shaman afk dies, modules can only respawn the shaman as a regular mouse.

I'm suprised that more people haven't replied, but I guess the forum is slow.

Anyways, I think this is an issue that really needed to be addressed for a long time, but especially now when scripting is becoming part of the engine. Hopefully this thread gets the dev's attention.

This isn't a minigame suggestion, he just mentioned minigames.

Thanks for clarifying this. Its weird though that arrows seem to be an exception. Casting arrows (even anchored) does not stop afk death, when there are several minigames that can be played by the shaman only by doing that (#shatrix, #pictionary, #towerdefense). Why doesn't placing an arrow mark the shaman as not afk?

For the comment on minigame scripts, I found that out when I asked why #pictionary couldn't just respawn the shaman. I will add more information to the first post.
