Hello, and welcome one and all to the EN Writers Thread! This is the creative writing counterpart to Satash's EN Art Conversation thread ( Topic-246479 ).

what to do here;
- Talk about writing competitions, such as NaNoWriMo.
- Get help with plot points and filling plot holes
- Find inspiration for stories, poems and songs
- Get criticism on works, both TFM and non (so it doesn't clutter your thread). Please note while criticising people to be as polite and concise as possible! Don't just say "this is terrible." Offer help and make it better!

what not to do here;
- Show off your work. If it's non-TFM related, share it here ( Topic-8941 ) or make a thread for it if it's TFM related.
- Don't share superlong chapters! If it's a wall of text, I recommend putting it on a paste site like Pastebin or Paste.Moepl.eu (the latter is made by TFM's own Moepl!)

Great idea! May I ask if Fanfiction.net and Fictionpress.net can be included in the sites of interests?

I really want to make a fan-Fic thread, but it has to be tfm-related. It's kind of hard for me to write as if the peope I am talking about are mice in the game. I want it to seem realistic, but it's a bit frustrating to do so. Everything always turns out like so 'cheesy',

Interesting concept but imo you reaaaaaally overdo the adjectives there. ;~; They're good to use, they make writing interesting, but yet too many can make a story overwhelming. Hopefully you see where I'm coming from.

Is mien ok so far? btws i put some mice to show ewhat they look like now.

I know ;;. I ALWAYS seem to write sentances like:


"The big, gleaming, shiny, strangely shaped object wobbled."

I need to get out of that habit, blargh.

in strunk and white's elements of style it talks about how writing is sometimes better using strong nouns and verbs rather than flowery adjectives

Yes. :3 The only thing I would advise now is to not tell people when you bring a new character in. Imagine Harry Potter, and J.K. Rowling writes "and here comes Hagrid to whisk Harry away to Hogwarts." Ruins the appeal of it.
